We engineer waterless dyeing plants for all textiles to weave a sustainable future for the planet 🌍

About us

Deven Supercriticals is an innovation driven company dedicated to state of the art Supercritical Fluid (SCF) technology, leading for more than 2 decades. We excel in Pilot to Commercial scale plants, turnkey projects for SCF applications like: Sustainable Textile dyeing; Extraction of Natural products like spices, herbs, fragrances; Sustainable Leather processing; Micronization; Precision cleaning; Sterilization etc. We have supplied 26 SCF plants, including exports to Hungary, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Pakistan. We are part of global initiative like ‘Fashion for Good’ making fashion more sustainable & greener for the planet. Our innovations are granted with international patents on various aspects of SCF Technology: 1) “Process for Dyeing of Textile Materials using Supercritical Fluid": an improved, sustainable, single step Dyeing as well as Finishing technology for man-made, natural & blended textiles. Allows use of traditional dyes, improves dye utilization, easy scale-up & less than half dyeing time than prior-art SC CO2 processes. Avoids reduction clearing, two bath dyeing for blends. Much less use of auxiliary chemicals, No salt, reducing the water, energy load resulting in minimum environmental impact. 2) “System for Continuous Feeding & Discharging of Solid Material to & from a Vessel Operating under High Pressure”: makes SCF Extraction batch into continuous process to (i) reduce loss of Solvent during depressurization of Extractors between batches (ii) minimizes non-productive time of De-pressurization, Feed Change & Re-pressurization (iii) Avoids loss of extraction efficiency due to depletion of the effective height of feed bed in batch process. 3) “A Control Valve having a Hollow Piston for Controlling Flow of Fluid”: suitable for high pressure drop & dirty service applications; requiring low force for achieving leak-tight shutoff; also enabling smooth, non-jerky operation over entire stroke length for normal to precision control of fluid flow.

🌍 Embrace Waterless Dyeing of All Textiles with SUPRAUNO™ by Deven Supercriticals! The textile industry, especially its dyeing & finishing operations, are one of the largest consumers of water in the world. Further, it also involves the use of a huge quantity of hazardous auxiliary chemicals which end up in wastewater, polluting the soil, water resources, making an irreversible damage to both the environment and human health. With the increasing demand for compliances in the fashion industry, there is an urgent need for replacing the conventional water-based dyeing & finishing techniques by a sustainable solution that truly minimizes the environmental impact. SUPRAUNO™ developed by Deven Supercriticals is a patented sustainable waterless dyeing technology that revolutionizes textile dyeing using Supercritical CO2. Our innovative solution, for the first time in the world, allows the waterless use of conventional dyes & their traditional tri-chrome recipes in the sustainable dyeing operation of various man-made and natural fabric types, including Cotton, Polyester, Nylon, Viscose, Linen, Silk, Acrylic and Blends with the help of Supercritical CO2. Don't miss out on this exciting innovation! Watch our animation video today to discover the power of SUPRAUNO™! Our Processing Team at Fashion for Good successfully led the D(R)YE Factory of the Future Project, validating the most promising technology combinations for pretreatment and colouration. This initiative aims to achieve significant impact savings while meeting industry standards for performance and quality. 🌍💧 This project united key industry players and our partners – adidas, Kering, PVH Corp., Arvind Limited, and Welspun India LTD Group, and we conducted rigorous due diligence and selected eight innovators to join the initiative — Alchemie Technology Ltd , Deven Supercriticals, eCO2Dye, Grinp, Indigo Mill Designs, Stony Creek Colors, imogo AB and MTIX Ltd. These cutting-edge technologies, including plasma and laser treatments, spray dyeing, supercritical CO2 dyeing, and foam dyeing. Here are our key learnings: ✅ Stage-gate validation is essential; lab scale trials are an early-stage indicator, but pilots and pre-industrial trials are crucial for assessing technology performance and feasibility before investment. ✅ Avoid combination complexity at an early stage. Focusing on individual validation first is more efficient. Testing technologies in combination is more effective for industrial-scale trials after promising individual results. ✅ Performance and Impact are context-specific. Technologies show potential for energy and water savings, but accurate performance and impact assessments require real-time factory data and base case comparisons. WHAT’S NEXT? The next step involves creating an Advanced Processing Matrix, a comprehensive data repository for processing solutions from pretreatment to finishing. This matrix will evaluate innovators based on technical ability, environmental impact, cost, performance, and ease of integration. It will provide key metrics to help decision-makers compare new solutions with their existing factory setups. 📣 Call for innovations  We are on the lookout for innovative solutions across all processing steps that can engage in production runs on the factory floor to assess your solution from a technology, impact and performance point of view.  If you are interested in getting involved you can contact us at: innovations@fashionforgood.com Read more about this project here: https://lnkd.in/eeGfDJY2 Maria Arroyo i Bacete Iro Kofokotsiou #sustainablefashion #sustainability #dyeing #processing #futuretech #project #colouration #innovation

Traditional dyeing processes, while effective in producing vivid colours and intricate patterns, have long been marred by significant environmental drawbacks, including excessive water consumption and pollution. Dyeing and printing are the cornerstones of textile colouration, each serving distinct yet complementary roles. Dyeing is the process of uniformly applying colour to textile materials, such as fibres, yarns, and fabrics, typically using dyes that chemically bond with the substrate. Printing, on the other hand, is the precise application of colour in patterns and designs on fabric surfaces, often using pigments that adhere to the material's surface through a binder. Both techniques are essential for achieving the desired aesthetic and functional properties in textile products. This sector presents significant opportunities to reduce emissions and water use through improvements in material processing. One of the key drivers for this change is the shift from wet to mostly dry processing, which can almost eliminate water use and consume less energy. Fashion for Good innovators — including Colorifix, Nature Coatings, Living Ink , Grinp, NTXAlchemie Technology Ltd, imogo AB, and Deven Supercriticals — have demonstrated potential reductions in water use, including savings of up to 83% in pre-treatment and 95% in dyeing. As the industry pivots towards alternative practices, innovative technologies are emerging, promising to revolutionise colouration in textiles. Stay tuned for an upcoming post where we'll dive deeper into the innovative solutions in dyeing and printing 🔜👀 Learn more about dyeing and printing at https://lnkd.in/gdsBBs7W #sustainability #sustainablefashion #innovation #consciousfashion #alternativefashion #sustainability #dyeing #printing
