Had an amazing evening that truly came together in less than 3 weeks! ✨ We often face the hurdle of getting everyone in one place — not everyone can take time out to travel for a gathering. So, we decided to bring the event to where our people are, and the result was an intimate setting where conversations were deep and connections grew stronger. This gathering in Mumbai brought together our LPs, well-wishers, and portfolio companies based in the region. What made it even more special was the beautiful venue, generously provided by our portfolio company, leap.club 🌟 Four of our portfolio companies shared their inspiring stories, vision, and their roadmap for the future. What stood out was their shared commitment to delivering customer value at scale and generate massive shareholder value. 💡 The highlight of the evening came when one of our LPs shared: “It was an evening well spent. What Enzia and the founders are doing is truly special. We attend such events often, but this one certainly stands out.” 🙌 Grateful for the connections, the stories, and the amazing people who joined us. Reflecting on an exciting year at Enzia Ventures in the healthcare space! Last year, we evaluated over 450 startups across diverse healthcare segments. Our in-depth analysis provided valuable insights into key trends and emerging opportunities that would influence the future of healthcare in India. Key reflections from the year: 1. Trust remains the cornerstone of healthcare. Sharp focus on long-term value through measurable outcomes is a must. 2. The shift to physical-first models is gaining traction - as companies blend digital with offline experiences to enhance trust and revenue streams. 3. While need-gap analysis reveals large opportunities, serviceability and paying capacity constraints limit the potential to built large businesses. 4. Marrying needs with aspirational desires creates massive opportunities—healthcare is not just about necessity but also lifestyle. 5. Healthcare access is improving, but navigating through the complex healthcare system still remains a challenge. Looking ahead to 2025, we are particularly excited about: 1. Potential of Generative AI in healthcare. 2. Healthcare expansion beyond Tier 1 cities aka healthcare for Bharat 3. We were delighted to co-host an informal closed-group climate gathering with Parul Gupta, Managing Director, Mobilization at the Stanford University Doerr School of Sustainability. The discussion provided an opportunity to discuss the pressing challenges and latest developments in climate and sustainability in India. Among other critical points, the conversation highlighted: 🌱 The evolution of the climate funding landscape in India. 🌱 The critical role that a diverse group of actors, including government, policymakers, funders, and think tanks, play and what additional steps must be taken to expedite progress. 🌱 How we can better streamline climate narratives to reflect the realities of India and the Global South. The gathering concluded on an inspiring note, with everyone sharing how they are contributing in their own unique ways to protect the planet. edept, a higher education-focused edtech startup enabling universities and higher-educational institutions to offer industry-led programs, has raised $1 million in a seed funding round. The round was led by Enzia Ventures and Equanimity Investments. Other investors, include Bhavin Pandya (Founder of Games24x7), edtech leader Arjun Mohan, and Canada-based Loyal VC. The Bengaluru-based startup plans to use the raised capital to fuel its expansion plans, scale operations, increase its workforce, and enhance its proprietary tech platform.
