As therapists, we know that trauma doesn’t just linger in the mind; it settles into the body. 🧠 Have you noticed clients experiencing tension, numbness, or disconnection? That’s the body holding onto pain, often beyond the reach of words. 🥲 To help our clients feel whole again, we must embrace a more holistic approach. 🌿✨ Integrating somatic techniques can create a pathway to deeper healing, allowing clients to reconnect with their bodies and emotions. 👇 Here are three powerful techniques to consider: 1️⃣ Vocal Toning & Humming: A simple hum can activate the vagus nerve, helping clients find calm amidst chaos. 🎶 2️⃣ Pendulation: Gently guiding clients between discomfort and safety enables them to release trauma without becoming overwhelmed. ⚖️ 3️⃣ Fluid Movement & Micro-Movements: Encourage clients to explore fluid movements to unlock tension and express emotions naturally. 🌊 Creating a safe space for this journey is vital! When clients feel supported, they can begin to process their trauma and reclaim their lives. 💪✨ What somatic techniques have you found helpful in your practice? True strength often lies in making choices that honor your mental and emotional well-being, even if it means stepping away. Prioritizing self-care can sometimes be the bravest move of all. 💪💙 #MentalHealthAwareness #StrengthInSelfCare

Staying isn’t always a sign of strength. In fact, walking away can be one of your bravest choices. I’ve been there too, feeling unsure about taking that first step to move on.   ↳ Because you worry about the unknown.   ↳ Because you feel guilty for leaving.   ↳ Because you keep hoping things will get better. But here’s the hard truth: ↳ The longer you stay in a situation that’s holding you back, ↳ the more likely you are to lose sight of your own potential. Here are 7 signs it may be time to move on: 1. Negativity is Constant    ↳ Instead of feeling energised, you feel drained every day.    ↳ Positive environments uplift; toxic ones pull you down. 2. Respect is Lacking    ↳ When your efforts aren’t valued, growth feels impossible.    ↳ Respect should be mutual, never one-sided. 3. Growth Has Stopped    ↳ You’re no longer challenged, and learning feels nonexistent.    ↳ Growth isn’t optional—it’s essential for fulfilment. 4. Values Feel Misaligned    ↳ When core beliefs clash with your environment, satisfaction wanes.    ↳ Surround yourself with those who resonate with your principles. 5. Communication Feels Broken    ↳ Conversations are tense, feedback isn’t welcome, and silence feels safer.    ↳ Without open communication, frustration builds. 6. Your Work Goes Unnoticed    ↳ Constant effort with little recognition erodes your motivation.    ↳ Seek places where your contributions are valued. 7. Isolation Despite Presence    ↳ You feel alone even among people; true connection feels absent.    ↳ Belonging is about support, not just being in the same room. Moving on isn’t giving up. It’s choosing to prioritise what brings you growth, fulfilment, and joy. "𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁." — 𝗔𝘂𝗯𝗿𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝘆  Which sign resonates with you? Polyvagal Wheel of Emotions, Sensations, Trauma Responses, and Skills. The Polyvagal Theory explains how our nervous system regulates our responses to stress. It involves three states: Social Engagement System: This is our default state, where we feel calm, connected, and safe. Sympathetic Nervous System: This is our "fight or flight" response, triggered by perceived threats. Dorsal Vagal Complex: This is our "freeze" or "shutdown" response, often activated in overwhelming situations. By understanding these states, we can better manage stress and trauma responses.

May this Diwali be a celebration of self-kindness, choosing what nourishes your heart over holding onto distant, unhealthy connections. May this Diwali be about honoring your body’s needs, whether that means slowing down or stepping into action. May this Diwali be a time to set aside the mask we wear for others and embrace our true selves. May it be a time to radically accept the complexities within family, society, and ourselves, while still questioning the systems that shape us, taking each step with intention. May this Diwali embrace not just body positivity, but body neutrality, honoring what simply is. Let this be one of the 365 days we celebrate life as it is, a moment to question and a chance to grow. May this Diwali bring together the people you want by your side, whether that’s family, chosen family, or the peaceful company of your own presence. Let it honor not only the lights but the shadows that make us whole. May this Diwali, and each day, be your choice of how you want to live, feel, and be. #DiwaliReflections #SelfKindness #CelebrateAuthenticity #BodyNeutrality #QuestionTheNorms #MeaningfulDiwali #ChosenFamily #LightAndShadow #DiwaliYourWay

Rotten friends/bosses/co-workers and worst of all family leads to rotten days, weeks, years, lives …. Listen to me, please keep negativity away from you, obviously if it’s close family you can’t fully cut it out but you can limit the time you allocate to them… if it’s random people, light weight friends, get rid of that energy, get out of the way, “don’t let it touch your skin” cause you’ll get rotten .. like these oranges 🍊

𝟭𝟭 𝗪𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 Happiness and motivation are intrinsically connected. There is something about being excited that changes a person's frame of mind. Over 30 years ago, I embarked on a life transformation without realizing it. I didn't grow up in the best of places. There wasn't always food on the table and went to a school where if you were studious, you'd actually get beat up. I saved enough money to go to college and was fortunate enough to get a company to hire me. However, because of my "self-imposed limitations" based on my beliefs, I was failing at work. I carried more than a "chip on my shoulder:" I had an unworkable belief that "only a few special people could be successful," and they came from the "right family." But I kept on trying. The problem was I had old scripts playing in my head. Then 2 miracles occurred: 1. I found a book at a bookstore that changed my thinking 2. I found a video at the library that showed me how to be successful These two events changed my life drastically. ________________ See the video I did on what I learned and how to implement it in your life: https://lnkd.in/ePka6j_U ________________ Thirty years later, I still practice what I learned from the book and the video. Here are some of the things I have learned 1. Create a Goal—An overarching purpose is best, but just start setting goals and working towards them. 2. Take Steps Toward the Goal - Break the goal into smaller goals. Each day (or hour), do something that moves you closer to the goal. 3. Learn New Skills - Doing 1 & 2 will "force" you to learn new skills. 4. Find a Mentor—The mentor can be a speaker or author who understands success. It doesn't have to be a person you meet with. 5. Practice Gratitude—Be grateful for what you have. Start with your eyesight, hands, and fingers—the small things. Create a list. There's a lot to be grateful for. 6. Write—Take notes and create written affirmations. 7. Check In With Your Manager—Ask about priorities, what else you can do, and where he/she needs help. 8. Reward Yourself—When you achieve a small goal, pat yourself on the back with a small reward. 9. Surround Yourself with Positive People—This is critical. Get away from negative people. 10. Stay Positive—Look for the good in everything and everyone and be a beacon of positivity to others. 11. Get Feedback—But only from people who support you and know what they are talking about—an expert in their field. 12. BONUS—Read for at least an hour in your field every morning. Go to bed before 10 PM and be up before 6 AM. Study and take notes. Watch the video above.
