Heart Health India Foundation: Beware of Silent Heart Attacks At Heart Health India Foundation, we want to raise awareness about silent heart attacks. These heart attacks often have few or unrecognized symptoms and may occur without the typical chest pain or shortness of breath. Many people might not even realize they've had one. Researchers estimate that 22% to 60% of all heart attacks are silent, with a higher prevalence among those with diabetes. Stay informed and proactive about your heart health! #HeartHealth #SilentHeartAttack #DiabetesRisk #HeartAwareness #HeartHealthIndia

Banishing Health Evils for a Heart-Healthy Dussehra This Dussehra, as we celebrate the triumph of good over evil, Heart Health India Foundation urges you to overcome these five health evils to ensure optimal heart health: 1. Misguided Detox with Juice Cleanses Juice cleanses can lead to nutrient deficiencies, as they often lack essential proteins and fats. True detoxification involves a balanced intake of macro and micronutrients and the elimination of processed foods and alcohol, ensuring comprehensive bodily function and heart health. 2. Carbohydrate Restriction Myths Severely restricting carbohydrates can induce ketosis, causing symptoms like fatigue, headaches, and gastrointestinal disturbances. Long-term low-carb diets can result in micronutrient deficiencies and metabolic imbalances. A balanced diet inclusive of healthy carbohydrates is essential for maintaining cardiovascular and metabolic health. 3. Rapid Weight Loss Fads Quick weight loss strategies can precipitate malnutrition, electrolyte imbalances, and muscle atrophy. These methods often result in transient weight loss and can disrupt metabolic homeostasis. Sustainable weight management through a balanced diet and consistent physical activity is crucial for long-term cardiovascular health. 4. Self-Diagnosis via Internet Searches Reliance on internet searches for medical diagnosis can lead to misinterpretation and increased anxiety. Unverified information can exacerbate symptoms through psychological stress. It is imperative to seek professional medical advice for accurate diagnosis and appropriate intervention to maintain cardiac and overall health. 5. Inadequate Sleep Chronic sleep deprivation disrupts circadian rhythms, leading to hormonal imbalances and increased cardiovascular risk. Prioritizing 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep supports metabolic regulation and reduces the risk of hypertension and coronary artery disease. This Dussehra, let's pledge to banish these health evils and adopt practices that promote heart health. #Dussehra2024 #HeartHealth #HealthyLiving #BanishHealthEvils #HeartHealthIndia

Heart Health India Foundation had the pleasure of meeting with the British Society for Heart Failure (BSH) to explore how we can work together to create a positive impact for heart failure patients, both in India and the UK. The meeting highlighted key areas where both organisations can add value to the heart failure community. BSH shared their expertise in developing patient education materials and discussed the possibility of sharing these valuable resources on various platforms. Additionally, there was a strong focus on supporting early diagnosis through educational campaigns, which both organizations are keen to promote. BSH also emphasized the importance of cross-cultural engagement, suggesting that members of the Indian community in the UK participate in their programs, fostering a stronger global heart health network. We were also inspired by BSH’s ambitious “25in25” campaign, aimed at reducing heart failure mortality by 25% over the next 25 years, supported by over 60 organizations globally. We also explored the potential for patient meet-ups and healthcare professional meet-ups across borders and discussed future meetings to gain the momentum. A special thanks to the BSH team, especially Isabella and Laurence, for their insightful contributions and commitment to heart health. HHIF looks forward to opportunities to collaborate with BSH and continuing to serve heart failure patients across the globe. #HeartHealth #GlobalCollaboration #HeartFailureAwareness #TogetherInHeartHealth
