Hon'ble Prof. Vinod Kumar Paul, Member @NITIAayog, launched the Expansion of ICMR Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance & Research Network (AMRSN) to secondary-level hospitals.  This initiative will expand footprint of AMR surveillance beyond tertiary care and  enhance nationwide monitoring of antimicrobial resistance. Secretary, DHR & DG, ICMR emphasized the need for generating high-quality, reliable AST data to guide evidence-based interventions for all levels of health care. A training workshop on the basics of antimicrobial susceptibility testing, antimicrobial stewardship and Data Management System was conducted for 130 participants from 60 hospitals.

Hon'ble Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Sh. J. P. Nadda ji also launched the first in the world Open system RT-PCR kit for Tuberculosis validated by ICMR during the International Symposium on Health Technology Assessment (ISHTA) today. The Quantiplus kit developed by Huwell Lifesciences , which can be used on any PCR machine. This will bring down the cost of TB testing to 1/5th.
