Great conversation with industry collegues on "Physical Security in the Cloud".. a brilliant innovation.. which, by the way, isn't new.. but a couple of 'decades' old 😊 Though a miniscule part of a $350Bn cloud market, the market is doubling for physical security applications in the cloud - both in terms of scale and spend - every 18-20 months. Something has changed. Something is compelling us for adoption. In a 2024 survey, 8 out of 10 security heads are convinced that cloud is the way forward, and would channelise their spending towards cloud in the next 24-36 months. As amazing as it is, it does come with its own challenges as well - key ones being - psychological stigma and hesitation, as well as cybersecurity threats. For fast-paced nations like India, which is slowly becoming the hub for most of the GCCs (Global Capability Centres) as well as rampant industry & infrastructure growth - cloud is an obvious way forward. Yes, like all technologies, it needs patience, understanding and maturity - and the name of the game is 'Education'!

IIRIS Launches its Nigeria Office in Lagos at a Grand Opening Ceremony Lagos, Nigeria 20-09-2024 IIRIS, a global leader in risk management and security solutions, announced the launch of its Nigeria office with a grand opening ceremony at Hotel Lagos Continental, marking a significant expansion of its operations into Africa. The event drew an impressive gathering, featuring top officials from various sectors, including government officials, industry leaders, and dignitaries. Notable attendees from Nigerian government included representatives from the Honourable Minister of Interior, National Security Adviser, Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Air Staff, Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Inspector General of Police for Lagos, and Commander of Nigeria Civil Defence Commission and Cyber Crime Division.
