VC is a people business. Choosing your champion is very important. Many advise against speaking with junior VCs, but here's my take: -> Junior VCs (analysts, associates) need to push good deals internally. It's how they prove their worth to partners. -> They do the grunt work: market research, customer calls, DD, and fight for you internally. A good relationship with them can secure an internal champion. -> Juniors know their partners' preferences well. Often, if a junior passes, a partner might too. Bottom line: Talking to junior VCs isn't a waste of time. If utilized correctly, they can be a huge benefit to founders from fundraising to hiring.
