Help us help children everywhere have equal opportunities at a future, no matter their background!

About us

Instilt - Educate is the non-profit branch of Instilt.com, with a mission to level the playing field between children who come from more fortunate backgrounds, and those who don't have the same privilege. In the wake of the pandemic, we realized that children from all financial backgrounds were forced to access online class, may it be only on their parent's mobile phone. The silver-lining there being that the children now are open to a world of opportunities, with literally no boundaries. We hope to capitalize on this opportunity and provide these children quality education in an interactive environment, allowing them to grow, and deepen their understanding and having a fair chance at a promising future!

Happy Back to School season! As the summer months come to a close, students and parents begin to prepare for the upcoming academic year. We designed a well-structured back-to-school checklist to help you through a smooth transition from summer to school. 1.School Supplies: essential items typically include notebooks, pens, pencils, highlighters, and folders. Specific requirements may vary depending on individual courses, so be sure to contact your school/teachers regarding these items. 2.Organizational tools: Think about investing in planners or digital calendars to track assignments, deadlines, and extracurricular activities effectively. Establishing a routine that incorporates regular study sessions will also enhance time management skills and promote academic success throughout the year. 3.Study Materials: If you need to purchase any textbooks, or additional academic materials, be sure to get those in time! 4.Create a schedule: It can be stressful to go from relaxing to suddenly overwhelmed with school assignments and exams. Try to create a rough after-school schedule to help stay on task without feeling too stressed. 5.Hydrate and sleep: Start the school year well-rested and hydrated. Building these habits before school begins makes it easier to maintain them throughout the year. Make sure to adjust sleep schedules prior to the start of school and complete all summer assignments! #school #backtoschool #instilt #instilteducate #highschool #college #university #educate #education

At Instilt Educate, we commend our volunteers as they do a fantastic job tutoring children English in Sri Lanka, Africa, and India. Here are some tips to improve your tutoring skills: Use Visual Aids and Real-Life Examples: Incorporate pictures, flashcards, and videos to make lessons more relatable and easier to understand. Focus on Pronunciation and Listening Skills: Start with simple words and phrases commonly used daily. Encourage students to repeat after you and practice their pronunciation. Consider using recordings of native speakers or apps that help with listening skills, making it easier for them to grasp the nuances of the language. Adapt to Local Contexts: Use examples and scenarios that resonate with the students' everyday lives. Incorporate Group Activities: Encourage teamwork by organizing group activities where students can practice speaking with each other. Role-playing in everyday situations, like greeting someone or asking for directions, can build their confidence in using English in real-life settings. Set Achievable Goals: Break down lessons into small, manageable goals. For example, aim for students to learn five new words by the end of each session. Celebrating these small wins will keep them motivated and excited to learn more. Provide Constructive Feedback: Offer specific, positive feedback on what students did well and gently correct mistakes. For example, instead of saying, "That's wrong," say, "Great effort! Let's try saying it this way." Remember that you are directly impacting these students, so make the best use of this opportunity to benefit you and your students. #VolunteerTutors #EducationForAll #TeachingTips #GlobalEducation #EmpowerThroughEducation #InstillEducate #MakeADifference #TeachEnglish #YouthEmpowerment #LearningTogether

Apply to Instilt Educate, a nonprofit that provides free English tutoring to underprivileged students worldwide. Founded during the pandemic, Instilt aims to reach students who need more resources to learn and understand English to a level that will benefit them academically and professionally. We do this by connecting with various schools and organizations that help us gather students from a similar grade level who speak the same native language to create a cohort. Each cohort has a set number of tutors, some of whom are bilingual and speak the students' native language. Our method is set up so that the bilingual tutor can connect the content with the students by translating terms they might not understand in their language to strengthen their learning. So far, Instilt has helped students in India, Sri Lanka, Rwanda, Zanzibar, Madagascar, Senegal and Guatemala! As a member of Instilt, you will have the opportunity to tutor and be involved in our various departments that help run Instilt. For example, you could be part of Human Resources, Academics (help make the content taught to students), Partnerships or Communications (create and maintain our connections to different organizations and schools that help us with our cause), or Social Media! Today, we want to shout out Chhavi Agarwal, a recent college graduate based in Delhi, India. Chhavi has been with Instilt for a little over a year, and in the meantime has worked as a tutor and is in the Academics department, currently as an academic batch manager for Instilt’s 37th cohort of students. Chhavi’s favorite part of Instilt is our amazing work culture. She mentions the benefits of working in an organization with so much diversity, and the opportunity of connecting with people all over the world. Of course, she also loves how much impact she has the power to make as a bilingual tutor. Once, she described, when she had to take a break from Instilt during her busy college exam season, her students constantly expressed how much they missed her, and pleaded with her to join the classes even if she couldn’t teach, just to see her. Chhavi recalls this memory with fondness, and said that at that moment, she felt as if what she had with her students felt like a family. Chhavi’s dedication to the organization can easily be seen from how committed she was; due to her demanding college life, she said that any free time she could find in her schedule, she dedicated to Instilt: checking messages, preparing lesson plans, and doing anything she could to support the organization. We commend Chhavi for her extraordinary work, and wish her the best of luck for her future! #Instilt #InstiltEducate #EmployeeSpotlight #Volunteer
