The Bombay High Court's recent decision to allow a Class 12 student to appear for an improvement exam due to Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD) underscores the severity of this crisis. Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD) or Gaming addiction can lead to significant mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and increased stress levels, closely mirroring the effects of substance abuse. The Bombay High Court's acknowledgment of IGD in a 19-year-old student, granting him an opportunity to reappear for exams, underscores the seriousness of this issue.
