🌟 Let's Celebrate Self-Care Month with WHO! From 24 June to 24 July 2024, we commemorate the 5th anniversary of the WHO's pioneering global Guideline on self-care interventions for health and well-being. This initiative has significantly bridged the gap between communities, primary care, and health systems, making self-care a fundamental aspect of holistic health. Self-care encompasses two pivotal components: self-care actions and self-care interventions. Self-care actions constitute the lifestyle choices and habits that foster healthier living like: ✅ Physical Activity ✅ Nutritious Diet ✅ Mental Health Care ✅ Reducing Substance Use Similarly, Self-care interventions refer to evidence-based tools, such as quality medicines, diagnostic devices, and digital applications, that support and enhance self-care practices. These tools are essential in preventing disease, sustaining health, and managing health conditions, with or without professional healthcare support. Engage with Self-Care Month by integrating these practices into your routine, fostering a healthier lifestyle. Together, we can advance our well-being and contribute to a healthier global community. #SelfCareMonth #WHO #HealthAndWellbeing #CelebrateSelfCare

Yesterday was #WorldHealthDay, a day that commemorates health as a global human right. As we continue to build a future where care is affordable and equitable for all, here are some steps you can take today to care for your own health and those around you: 1. Take a moment to schedule your preventive care exam for yourself or a loved one. Even if it’s months out, it’s better to have it on the books so you don’t forget! 2. Talk with family members about their health history so you can bring history and concerns to your physician. 3. Share your favorite healthy tips and habits with those around you. In this case, sharing really is caring! Learn more about World Health Day: https://lnkd.in/gj_XCQt5

June 24-July 24 is a time that the World Health Organization is working to raise awareness about self-care. Self-care month ends on 24 July. "This symbolic day was chosen because self-care can be practiced “24 hours a day/7 days a week”. I am interested in how self-care can promote health, particularly when addressing legal conflicts with the healthiest interventions. WHO describes self-care month as an opportunity to: "raise additional awareness about self-care and self-care interventions, acknowledge the benefits that they bring to people’s lives and what’s been achieved so far; call for renewed commitments and action to expand all health systems to include self-care interventions. During the month, people around the world will be celebrating self-care practices and interventions and the difference they can make to everyone’s lives." Let's take some time this month to promote self-care in the ways we often think about self-care with proper diet, exercise, and rest. But let's also think about how to expand the potential for self-care in medical and legal needs by looking broadly to find avenues for self-care.#selfcare https://lnkd.in/ePJ3Vpit
