Hi Mitsui followers! We are thrilled to launch a new series called “Discover Mitsui”, where we showcase significant locations connected to the Mitsui Group. Nestled in Tokyo, the Tsunamachi Mitsui Club stands as a testament to timeless architecture. Designed by the renowned British architect Josiah Conder, famous for landmarks like the Rokumeikan, the club features a stunning Renaissance-style exterior and a picturesque Western-style garden, covering an impressive 33,000 square meters. Inside, the club offers an elegant setting that has welcomed dignitaries, including members of the imperial family and Japan’s prime ministers. Today, it continues to serve as a distinguished venue for gatherings and celebrations within the Mitsui Group. While the spirit of Challenge and Innovation fostered by the pioneers of the former Mitsui & Co., Ltd. endures, it is important to note that there is no legal continuity between the former and current Mitsui & Co., established after the disbandment of the former in 1947. This series is created in collaboration with the Sanyu-Shinbun, Mitsui Group’s official newspaper. Stay tuned for our next featured location! #Mitsui #Heritage #TsunamachiMitsuiClub #Architecture
