Thrilled to have been part of the India EV 2024 Expo and Conference, Chennai held on June 29-30!⚡ The conference painted a clear picture: the future of mobility is undeniably electric and sustainable. Sessions explored crucial aspects like battery technology, charging infrastructure, and responsible EV adoption, showcasing the steady growth of the EV ecosystem and a positive shift in industry and public perception towards electric vehicles. Frost & Sullivan's report underscores this growth, projecting over 123,000 Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) to be sold in India by year-end 2024, a significant 47.9% increase compared to 2023. The conference rounded off with a panel session focused on: EV waste management & recycling, highlighting the importance of this conversation for achieving true EV sustainability. Our founder, Shubham Vishvakarma, participated in the discussion, exploring the challenges and opportunities within the evolving EV recycling landscape. ♻️ As the EV industry relies heavily on critical minerals for batteries, effective battery recycling is paramount to ensuring a circular and sustainable ecosystem for these resources. 13th March, 2024, we were invited by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to participate in the 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐏𝐑 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. Every new policy faces it's own growing pains and execution challenges. It was very encouraging to hear the Board's plans, strategies and targets to implement the Battery Waste Management Rules in letter and spirit. Involving cross value-chain stakeholders including battery producers, recyclers and subject matter experts and inviting their candid feedback, ensures the implementation happens attuned to ground reality and promotes better coordination between government and industry. We look forward to work hand-in-hand with the authorities to achieve the vision of a Net-Zero India. We are recycling Lithium-Ion Batteries. And are happy to chat with anyone needing clarity on the Extended Producer Responsibilities for the Battery industry. #climate
