Who doesn’t love a good picnic? 🧺 As part of our Civil Society Wellness Protocol Campaign, we hosted picnics across Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore on the theme of 'Building Wellness and Community Care' with our alumni and community members as well as members of our Urban Feminist Civil Society Network! We came together to share not only food but also stories and ideas. Our focus was on fostering community care and support and discussing well-being challenges in both our work and our personal lives. Are you well at work? 🪷 October 2024 was Mental Health Awareness Month, and was themed around ‘mental health at work’. At One Future Collective, we took this time to examine the idea of worker wellness or wellbeing within civil society. We found that while the individual physical and mental impact of navigating the challenges of civil society work is important, it never operates in a vacuum - the challenges of wellness being de-prioritised in civil society work are systemic, embedded in structural inadequacies, cultural narratives, political and funding environments and regulatory pressures. Workplace wellness, then, is an issue of health, dignity, safety, and access to rights. 📢 It is in this context that we are excited to present the  ‘Civil Society Wellness Protocol’ - a set of principles that are intended to inform civil society work, particularly in shaping worker wellness. This iterative set of principles is informed by our research, conversations before and during the past month, and experience as civil society workers. 📖 Read more about why the Protocol is important, its principles, and how we can shape it collaboratively: https://lnkd.in/digxr3m8 These principles will evolve with the sector and its workers.
