Starting an Agency Partner Program from scratch? Here's your blueprint for success.🚀 Building a successful agency partner program isn't just about signing on the dotted line; it's about crafting a mutual growth story! Here's how I'm breaking down the process: 1. Identify Your Goals - What do you want from this partnership? Increased sales, broader service offerings, more market reach? Be crystal clear with your objectives. 2. Choose the Right Partners - Look for agencies that align with your brand values and can genuinely benefit from your services. It's quality over quantity! Ensure that they have the right approach and relevant clients that you could pilot your offerings with. 3. Have Clear Terms - Be transparent about commission structures, co-marketing efforts, and support. Ensure both parties are clear on the expectations on outcomes and potential support required. 4. Partner Enablement - Equip your partners with the relevant and up to date sales enablement content, training sessions, and marketing materials to help them succeed. 5. Communication Cadence - Regular check-ins, newsletters, or a dedicated Slack channel can keep the relationship active and informed. P.S Use a channel that is convenient and part of each orgs workflow. This will reduce friction on activation. 6. Track & Iterate - Set KPIs, monitor performance, and use feedback to refine your program continuously. Starting an agency partner program is like planting a garden; it needs the right seeds (partners), nurturing (support), and environment (alignment) to flourish. Who's ready to grow together? 🌱 #AgencyPartners #GrowthStrategy #BusinessDevelopment

People think everything is a partnership 😵💫 This is one of the biggest issues in our field. That's why I created a simple graphic to explain the different types of partnerships as I see them: 📣 Co-Marketing This is what most people think about when they say partnership. I promote you to my customers, and you do the same for me. No money changes hands, but there may be a small discount or kick back. These partnerships are low-risk, which makes it easy to have many of them. 💪 Channel & Service Partners Any person or company that either sells your product for you and/or provides services around your product. These partners help you outsource manual, labour-intensive tasks like sales or support. They're often called (Value-Added) Resellers or System Integrators. Enablement of partners and their teams takes effort, which increases the risk of choosing the wrong partner. 🔌 Product Partners Other tech companies (often called Independent Software Vendors) who usually integrate with your software. An integration is not a partnership though. A product partnership is the go-to-market wrapper around your integration or joint customer workflows. It's expensive to build integrations which makes these partnerships higher risk than the previous two. But your joint solution might be worth a lot of money to customers. 🐋 Alliances The big whale partners. The difference here is the depth of the partnership. You partner with the company and also "win" their ecosystem (their marketing, channel & service, and product partners). Alliances are “bet the company type” decisions because of how resource intense they are, so you can‘t do many of them. Choose wisely. Why do these distinctions matter? Because I often hear founders say things like "We want 100 partners by the end of the year" or "Our partner manager can handle 10 strategic alliances". Not all partnerships are created equal. The best partnerships people compose a partner portfolio with the right mix of volume, risk, and rewards for their company. It is our job as Partnership Leaders to educate and set ourselves up for success. #partnerships #partnerprograms #businessdevelopment
