I wake up every morning feeling like a phone with a 10% battery and no charger. Before I’ve even brushed, I’m already worrying about the deadlines I’m ignoring. The day hasn’t even started, and I’m already behind—running like a rabbit chasing an endless carrot. I give it my all but feel nothing. Just a creeping exhaustion that’s starting to feel permanent. 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀, 𝗜 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲, 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗳é 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝟭𝟮 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀. But then reality (aka my bank balance) kicks in. So, I hold onto this hope that “10 years from now” I’ll finally have enough to retire early. That’s my carrot which keeps me in the same loop. 𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚’𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄’𝙫𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙙: love—or maybe just a shift in perspective—can slow things down. Suddenly, life didn’t feel like an endless sprint. And no, it’s not because my boss stopped dumping work on me. It was me. So, I’m trying a few things: 1. Take 5 deep breaths before I open emails in the morning. Maybe get some sun while I’m at it. 2. Pair my smoke break with a quick 500-step walk. Walk, smoke, repeat. 3. Find small joys. Cat videos always work. 4. If something’s bugging me, I’ll either talk it out or deal with it. 5. Be kind—the world’s full of jerks. 𝘚𝘰 𝘯𝘰, 𝘐’𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴 𝘺𝘦𝘵, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱. 𝘐𝘧 𝘯𝘰𝘵, 𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘋𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳.

What a month August was!? In every which way, things seemed to be buzzing, specially for us at Pause. Lets summarise what all went down: 𝟭. 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘀𝘂𝗹𝗲 We hosted our first workshop for individuals experiencing burnout and demotivation. Led by our expert Psychologist, Aakanksha Kumar, the workshop focused on understanding, identifying, and finding long-term solutions for managing burnout. The small, interactive group provided a supportive and safe space for participants to help each other. 𝟮. 𝗣𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 This month, there was a high demand for peer support and supervision at Pause. The Therapists at Pause were working hard to support their clients in challenging political, cultural, and national environments, which left them feeling drained. The two peer supervisions addressed these challenges: One group explored how different forms of grief manifest in clients and how it impacts the therapists themselves. The discussion also touched on understanding the cultural backgrounds and privileges that may influence therapist-client interactions. - The other Peer Supervision, led by @Rhea Dubey, focused on navigating self-loathing in clients. It was inspiring to see the group come together to share their vulnerabilities and support each other. In addition, we've always been proud of the quality therapy we provide. This month, we also saw an increase in sign-ups for supervision with our expert and certified therapists. This raised the question of whether we should introduce them individually in a separate post. What are your thoughts? August felt like a whirlwind, and probably took a lot out of us. Here's to a kinder September for us all! #Augustrush #mentalhealthwork #work #mentalhealthawareness #therapistwork Madhav Menon Arushi Sachdeva Arushi Gupta Rhea Raghavi Dubey Akriti SG Hussain Ishika Mehta Amishi Sota Supriya C. 𝘼𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙮? Let’s take the last month into consideration: ⁃ What all had to be done? ⁃ How much did you achieve?  ⁃ What all was going on in your life, at the time? There are two ways of looking at this. One where we take into account what happened to us as a person and in our private lives affects the way we think, feel and perform. If you are going through a hard time with your partner, it seems plausible for you to not be completely productive. It’s not easy to not let personal-professional get mixed. Don’t beat yourself up on it. The other way of looking at productivity is like Naval Ravikant. He says “be a lion. Sprint, hunt and then rest,” meaning that like motivation, productivity can also come in spurts. On the days you feel good and motivated, you can get more done. And then simply giving yourself the time to rest and recover and start fresh next day. But no two days are alike. Days with zero motivation, back aches and thoughts of quitting, pay a visit too, and here discipline plays a part. Showing up on bad days and doing the bare minimum is also giving your best. Hence, like your equity portfolio, your productivity is not linear either. There are consistent and persistent crests and troughs. And the way to move forward is through showing up, self care and preparation :) *this post does not take into account many exceptions, like people with special abilities and more. #exhaustion #demotivation #productivity #emoployeewellbeing
