The Symposium on 'Atmanirbhar Pensioned Society for a Viksit Bharat' was jointly organized by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow on 22nd June 2024. Dr. Vivek Joshi, Secretary (Financial Services) at the Ministry of Finance, highlighted the pivotal role of India's robust public digital infrastructure and the JAM (Jan Dhan-Aadhaar-Mobile) trinity in ensuring inclusive pension delivery during the 'Amrit Kaal' era. Dr. Deepak Mohanty, Chairman, PFRDA stressed universal pension coverage to tackle longer lifespans. He proposed tailoring financial literacy programs and pension fund investments to support India's goal of achieving net-zero emissions, taking into account social, economic, and cultural aspects. In accordance with the Budget Announcement of 2023 (Para 99 and Para 100), the PFRDA Regulations have undergone a thorough review, culminating in the release of the Compendium of PFRDA Act, Rules, and Regulations 2024 in both e-book and print formats.
