Manoj Pandey - Head (Business Development & Operations), PIL, shared insightful strategies to accelerate investment in #GasInfrastructure development in India at the panel discussion Balancing Act: Oil and Gas in the Era of More Energy and Lower Emissions, at the recently held ET Energy Leadership Summit 2024.  The key takeaways included: - The urgent need to develop natural gas infrastructure to drive demand and support its future role in India's energy mix. - 91% of operating and 88% of under-execution pipelines are government-owned entities, highlighting limited private sector participation. - Major challenges like lack of visibility & uncertain gas demand along the pipeline corridors, delays in RoU acquisition/statutory approvals, and very low tariff bids impact pipeline development. - Suggested solutions include revising regulatory frameworks, streamlining RoU acquisition & approvals process, and ensuring minimum returns for investors.
