Last week we had the privilege of hosting our final PRCC meetup of 2024, and it was a truly intimate and memorable gathering with Nandita Lakshmanan from The PRactice. The conversation flowed effortlessly, with off-beat questions that sparked deep reflections on her personal journey—touching on the experiences that have shaped her view of success, wealth, relationships, among others. The meetup felt raw and authentic, as Nandita shared insights not just on her professional milestones, but on the very essence of life and growth. It wasn’t just about the PR industry; it was about the balance between ambition and contentment, and the importance of staying grounded in both work and personal life. We also took a moment to celebrate Nandita’s incredible 25-year entrepreneurial journey and her success in building The PRactice into what it is today. Even though the Bangalore rains played spoilsport, we braved through them to be there—and it was worth it. The conversations that followed left us with plenty of food for thought as we close out the year. Yatti Soni, Content and Comms Manager at PrivateCircle, delivered a power-packed session at the PRCC Bengaluru September Meetup on "Storytelling in the Content Era." Her tips for effective content creation and distribution were pure gold. Here are some top takeaways: Collaboration is key – Whether it's marketing, social media, or reports, collaborating across teams and mediums amplifies your content's reach and impact. Plan for distribution from day one – Content distribution isn’t an afterthought. Include both short-term and long-term strategies in the planning phase itself. Pitch like a pro – Journalists appreciate pitches that read like a well-written lede, addressing the 5Ws + 1H. It significantly increases your chances of grabbing their attention. Thank you, Yatti, for showing us how to create content that truly connects! #ContentCreation #Storytelling #ContentDistribution #Collaboration #PR

A fantastic session at the PRCC Bengaluru September Meetup with A R Hemant, Head of Communications at BankBazaar, who shared his expertise on "Storytelling in the Content Era." His approach to content and storytelling in today’s fast-paced digital world resonated with everyone. Here’s what we learned: Build for the long term – Viral content might fade, but good content has lasting value. Focus on creating stories that will stand the test of time. Know your community – Building long-standing relationships based on trust is key. Understand your audience deeply and connect with them meaningfully. Adapt to BANI – VUCA is no longer relevant. Today’s world is BANI (Brittle, Anxious, Nonlinear, Incomprehensible), and we must adapt our storytelling to thrive in this reality. Hemant’s perspective on building lasting content and relationships is a game-changer for any comms professional! #ContentStrategy #Storytelling #LongTermGrowth #CommunityBuilding #BANI

At the PRCC Bengaluru September Meetup, we had the pleasure of hearing from Shrabonti Bagchi, National Features Editor at Mint, on the crucial topic: "From Pitch to Press: How to Engage Journalists Effectively." Her insights were invaluable, especially for anyone in PR looking to craft compelling pitches. Here are the key takeaways: 1. Know the publication – A one-size-fits-all approach won't work! Tailor your pitch to the type of publication. A financial outlet needs a different angle than a daily paper. 2. Know the journalist – 'Spray and Pray' Method is so last century! Take the time to research the journalist, understand their past stories, and approach them with a targeted, thoughtful pitch. 3. Know your client – The most interesting stories often come from employees, not just the C-Suite. Speak to the engineer, designer, or product expert to uncover unique angles. Thanks, Shrabonti, for reminding us that effective PR is about precision and depth! #PR #Communications #Storytelling #MediaRelations #Pitching #Journalism #Content
