Heartening to see Refo as finalist for IFTA 2024 award. When I looked at the finalist list I could see mostly mature companies and probably we being the most young one. Glad to see team's effort being recognised in the industry. We believe banking architecture written for last century will evolve from branch based to Digital/API banking in the coming 2 decades. I started my journey in banking around 7 years back. Despite having some experience in financial services, it took me time to truly understand how banking works – and even now, I still consider myself a student. The banking world has changed so much and so fast in last 1 decade that it sparked our curiosity to dig deeper and understand the overall evolution of banking in last few decades and also try to understand how banking look like by 2040. What bets did early bankers take which has shaped the money movement that we call banking today. While no one knows what future holds with surety but if I am a banker today how should I be preparing to lead the industry by 2040. Where should our energy be focussed right now to create a more prosperous world in 2040? "More prosperous world" through banking, really? Is banking really that important? We talk about all of this in our upcoming podcast called "The 2040 banker" and I am proud to launch it today. We strongly believe that the knowledge to make banking better should not be confined behind the closed doors of conferences but should be more open. If banking is so important and dear to us then the knowledge should be available to all, easily.
