After marathon review (Reviewed by 4 Reviewers, 1 Academic Editor & at least 1 Journal Editor) and comprehensive revision (Accepted manuscript has 19 Figures with >170 panels), our work was recently accepted in the prestigious “PLoS Biology” Journal.   Work led by diligent Post-Doctoral Fellow Jyoti Tanwar and extremely well supported by lab superstars Kriti Ahuja, Akshay Sharma, Anushka Agrawal, Gyan Ranjan and Farina Sultan, PhD. Infrastructure support by Regional Centre for Biotechnology is highly appreciated.   In this study, we reveal that mitochondrial calcium uptake is a critical regulator of vertebrate pigmentation.
