#NewResearchPublicationAlert: Co-culturing algae and bacteria boosts carotenoid production under nutrient stress Latest research from our #OmicsOfAlgae Group, #icgebnewdelhi & published in the World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, shows that co-culturing the alga Chlorella saccharophila with the bacterium Exiguobacterium sp. can enhance carotenoid production under nutrient-depleted conditions. This co-culture strategy could be a promising approach to activate unexpressed pathways, generate novel metabolites, and enhance yields of valuable carotenoids like lutein and zeaxanthin.
