In a recent interview with CNBC-TV18, our Executive Chairman, Mr. Atul Chaturvedi, expressed strong support for the government’s recent decision regarding ethanol. This move, coming as the crushing season approaches, reaffirms the government's commitment to decarbonisation by 2070 and addresses the excess sugar inventory. It also reflects confidence in this year’s crop yield. While Mr. Chaturvedi views this as a positive development, he emphasised the need for an increase in cane juice and b-heavy ethanol prices. He anticipates that the true impact will be felt once the crushing season begins in October. Looking ahead, he expects ethanol volumes to exceed 20 crore litres this year, with potential for even higher levels in the future. In a recent interview with CNBC_Awaaz, our Executive Director, Mr. Ravi Gupta, shared a positive outlook for the current sowing season, noting improved sowing and a favorable August rainfall forecast. He anticipates sucrose production to be around 32-33 million tonnes, with an expected surplus of about 30 lakh tonnes of sugar.
