This festive season, I'm excited to bring the Sadat Palna from Sirohi's Tayareeyan - Festive Gifting Collection '24 into my puja space. Handwoven with love using upcycled textile and plastic waste ropes on a sturdy metal frame, this stunning palna beautifully blends spirituality, mindfulness, and luxury. I’ve placed it on a jhula I repurposed for my puja space, a reminder of my values—to not discard, but to add value and give new life to existing pieces✨ News With Navya has featured Sirohi before, and I’m a big fan of their mission. Sirohi employs women artisans from rural India to create beautiful, sustainable luxury products. Watch my conversation with their founder, Gauri Malik here: https://lnkd.in/dEGyhXAe #Sirohi #FestiveGifting #SustainableLuxury #RepurposeWithLove #MindfulCelebrations #ConsciousLiving

How do you balance the highs and lows of motherhood while running a business? If you're a mother or an entrepreneur, you've likely faced long days, sleepless nights, and moments of pure exhaustion. As Jennifer (Jay) Palumbo puts it: "Exhaustingly long days, demanding customers, periods of insomnia, days that turn into weeks — sound familiar?" The entrepreneurial journey and motherhood often feel like two sides of the same coin, each filled with unexpected challenges and endless learning curves. For Gauri Malik, founder of Sirohi and a mother of two, this balancing act spans continents. Running an artisan-backed business in India while raising her children in Singapore, Gauri has navigated both the complexities of scaling a sustainable luxury brand and the ever-changing demands of motherhood. In Parenthoot with Neha's latest podcast with us, Gauri shares her inspiring story of building a conscious brand while embracing the challenges of being a mom. She talks about her unique journey, the "templates" that help her stay grounded, and how she keeps evolving to manage it all. 🎙️ Tune in for insights, inspiration, and real talk on what it takes to be both a mother and a business leader! 🔗 Check out the full episode here: Spotifyhttps://lnkd.in/d46keaXz Apple Podcasts Promotionhttps://lnkd.in/dXqrXPdN Amazon Musichttps://lnkd.in/dVw4dKMG Castboxhttps://lnkd.in/d-exPiGB Pocket Castshttps://pca.st/shkf8dkk #MotherhoodAndEntrepreneurship #SustainableBusiness #WomenInBusiness #FounderStories #Podcast #Sirohi

Today, we're sharing the story of Sirohi, a sustainable, empowering, and artisanal brand established in 2019, started with the vision of empowering rural women artisans and promoting sustainable living through beautifully handcrafted products. Founded by Gauri Malik, Sirohi's journey began in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. Instead of seeing the town as conservative or chaotic, she discovered a hidden treasure of artistic talent within its bustling streets and rustic villages. Growing up in an environment that fostered fearlessness and independence, the founder noticed that many talented and educated women, including her mother, remained largely dependent on their male counterparts. This inspired the idea for Sirohi – to empower these women by harnessing their inherent craftsmanship and utilizing it as a tool for change. Each product is a testament to the skill and dedication of the artisans, blending traditional techniques with modern design to create unique, sustainable products. Sirohi proudly supports the lives of over 500 rural women artisans, supported by a core team of 10+ people handling operations, marketing, sales, design, and outreach. For anyone starting in this sector, the advice from Gauri Malik is simple: stay true to your mission and values. Building a purpose-driven brand takes time and perseverance, but the impact you create will make every challenge worthwhile. Looking ahead, Sirohi aims to expand its product range and reach more global markets, while continuing to empower rural artisans and showcase Indian craftsmanship. The focus will remain on innovation, bringing best-in-class, sustainable, and luxurious products to customers while creating a positive social impact. Want to hear more inspiring stories? ✨ Introducing #Tayareeyan – The Festive Gifting Collection by Sirohi ✨ Sirohi is a brand very close to my heart. It empowers women artisans from rural India by employing them to design luxurious, yet sustainable home products. This initiative not only creates beautiful products but also promotes sustainable livelihoods for these women, giving them financial independence. 🌱 In this post, I’ve styled the Lola Gifting Basket – a handwoven beauty made from cotton and upcycled plastic, which significantly reduces waste. Isn’t it absolutely aesthetic? 😍 What makes this even more special is that Gauri Malik, the founder of Sirohi, is an alumna of my university – University of Warwick. It’s incredibly inspiring to be surrounded by such a powerful and driven network of changemakers. 🌟 Explore Sirohi’s festive collection here: https://lnkd.in/gM45MqdT Thank you Aakanksha Arora for introducing me to this lovely endeavour. #SustainableLiving #WomenEmpowerment #LuxuryWithPurpose #FestiveSeason #WarwickAlumni #Sirohi One District One Product

Remember those ads we couldn’t wait to skip just so we could get back to our favorite cartoons? 😅 Little did we know, those very ads were shaping our minds and leaving a lasting impact. As a startup, we've all come a long way—experimenting with countless marketing strategies and figuring out what clicks (and what doesn’t). But one thing remains constant: the inspiration we draw from the iconic ad campaigns that have stayed with us since childhood. Here's to the brands that made us smile, laugh, and think—and taught us what great marketing truly is. This weekend, we had the pleasure of hosting the Nest team at our factory. Their visit was invaluable as we worked together to audit our operations, identify areas for improvement, and develop new strategies for our ground activities. We're grateful for their expertise and commitment to ethical practices. We discussed the importance of strengthening our workplace culture, providing ongoing training and support to our artisans, and ensuring smooth processes and tracking systems are in place. By implementing these strategies, we aim to create a more supportive and efficient working environment for our team and our artisans. We're excited to continue our partnership with Nest and make a positive impact on our communities. Nest Gauri Malik #Sirohi #CSR #Partnership #Nest #CommunityDevelopment
