🚨 Urgent Wake-Up Call for Digital Safety! 🚨 In a staggering escalation, scammers have stolen Rs 2,140 crore in just 10 months through ‘Digital Arrest’ scams, tricking people into believing they face serious legal consequences unless they pay up. These scams, often run from international call centers, pose a massive threat to India’s digital economy and personal safety. This is a watershed moment. Scam detection technology must be deployed at scale, holding platforms accountable for rigorous oversight, and law enforcement needs to ensure swift action against these cybercriminals. The time to act is now—India’s digital future depends on it. 🔒 Solution Path: • Implement robust scam detection AI to monitor suspicious activities. • Regulate and enforce accountability on platforms allowing financial transactions. • Strengthen international cooperation to dismantle scam call centers abroad. Let’s work towards a secure digital environment where scammers face justice, and every citizen can interact online without fear. #DigitalSafety #CyberSecurity #IndiaFightsScams https://lnkd.in/dPc3FDFw

📢 Action Needed: Protect American Democracy from Deepfakes! Recent findings show that nearly 50% of voters felt deepfakes swayed their election decisions. With almost 71% of voters in battleground states exposed to political deepfakes, disinformation is undermining our democratic process. In this digital age, anyone can be deceived by AI-generated fakes. We must act now to enforce stricter policies, enhance AI tools for verification, and educate the public on recognizing deepfakes. Democracy depends on truth — let’s stand against digital manipulation! #TrustAndSafety #DigitalCitizenship #OnlineSafety #DeepFakes #Elections McAfee Abhishek Karnik Daniella Alessandra Genovese Source : https://lnkd.in/dGs4ascj

"If the world's best cybersecurity companies aren't safe from deepfake attacks, the fate of us mere mortals lies in doing all we can to stay vigilant and secure.” A recent report from TechCrunch highlighted how Wiz, a leading cybersecurity firm, was targeted by a deepfake attack just weeks ago. Dozens of Wiz employees received a voice message supposedly from the CEO, attempting to phish for their credentials. While the company was able to identify the attack, the CEO noted that the "risk of getting caught is very low" for cyber criminals using deepfakes. This underscores how critical it is for all of us to be aware of these emerging threats and take proactive steps to protect ourselves and our organizations. Some key tips: - Be highly suspicious of any unsolicited requests for sensitive information, even if they seem to come from a trusted source - Implement robust identity verification and multi-factor authentication measures - Stay up-to-date on the latest deepfake detection tools and techniques - checkout Contrails AI - Foster a culture of cybersecurity awareness and vigilance across your team The reality is that no one is immune. But by staying informed and proactive, we can all work to mitigate the risks posed by this dangerous new frontier of cybercrime. Let's make trust & safety a priority, for our own safety and that of our companies. #DeepFake #TrustAndSafety #OnlineSafety #Threat #CapacityBuilding https://lnkd.in/g2aXt7E7

🚨 The AI Revolution and Child Safety: A Wake-Up Call 🚨 A heartbreaking lawsuit against Character.AI reveals the devastating impact of unregulated AI interactions. As the child safety community, we must acknowledge this as a critical failure. Children need guidance—not just in accessing modern tech tools but in understanding when and how to use them safely. Creating new features won’t replace robust age gating and awareness programs for parents, schools, and society. AI platforms must take responsibility, and laws should be firm—without exceptions. No child should pay the price for corporate negligence. Let’s make a collective call for stronger regulations and accountability. #DigitalSafety #TrustAndSafety #AIRegulation #ChildSafety #OnlineSafety A tragic incident has highlighted the need for stricter oversight of AI platforms. A Florida mother is suing Character.AI alleging that her son’s suicide was linked to his addiction to conversations with a chatbot on their platform. The lawsuit emphasizes the growing risks of unregulated AI interactions and the lack of safeguards for young users. This case, along with a simultaneous lawsuit against Google underscores the urgent need for clear age restrictions and accountability mechanisms to prevent further harm from unchecked AI use. https://lnkd.in/gaSBHAnc

🦺‼️🆘 The Dark Side of AI: When Your Face No Longer Belongs to You I just came across something that sent chills down my spine. TikTok creator Sam (@sammci9) discovered a brand had stolen her content, created a deepfake of her face, and used it to promote their products - all without her consent. Let that sink in. Her identity. Her reputation. Her trust with followers. All hijacked by AI. This isn't just a cautionary tale - it's the new reality for creators and professionals alike. Sam's video exposing this has hit 1.8M views, but the damage was already done. https://lnkd.in/dfjamEmn 🔍 Why This Matters for Every Professional: • Your digital identity is your business asset • AI tools are making identity theft hyper-realistic • Brand partnerships worth millions could vanish overnight • Trust, once broken, is nearly impossible to rebuild 📊 The Numbers Are Staggering: - 500% increase in deepfake incidents since 2021 - 95% of detected deepfakes target creators and influencers - Average recovery time from reputation damage: 12-24 months 🛡️ Protect Yourself: 1. Regularly monitor your digital presence 2. Implement solutions like the ones offered by Contrails AI 3. Build strong authentication systems with your audience 4. Register your likeness legally where possible The creator economy isn't just changing - it's under attack. The question isn't IF you'll be targeted, but WHEN. 💡 Key Takeaway: In 2024, protecting your digital identity isn't just about security - it's about survival. Share this if you believe in protecting creators' rights. Tag someone who needs to see this. #DigitalSecurity #CreatorEconomy #AI #DeepfakeAlert #PersonalBranding #FutureOfWork #ContentCreation --- What's your take on this? Share your thoughts below. 👇

🗳️🇺🇸🤖 Deepfakes are targeting voters in the 2024 U.S. elections! Sophisticated AI-generated videos are being weaponized to spread false information and discourage voters from casting their ballots. Public figures like Michael Douglas, Amy Schumer, Chris Rock and many more Hollywood celebrities are now part of a campaign warning against this threat. With election integrity under attack, here’s what you can do to protect yourself and others: 1️⃣ Verify information from trusted sources – Don’t rely on viral videos alone. 2️⃣ Spread awareness – Share resources like this PSA to educate others. 3️⃣ Support regulations – Encourage platforms and policymakers to take action against deepfake manipulation. 💡 Your vote is your voice—don’t let Deepfakes take it away. #Deepfakes #Election2024 #DigitalSafety #VoterAwareness #TrustAndSafety #AI Contrails AI worked during Indian elections with Factcheckers to help detect deepfakes, we are working with journalists in the US as well, if you need any help feel free to reach out.
