Sportstar's March 29 edition recaps India's triumph in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, its second ICC title in nine months. Playing all its games in Dubai, India was unbeaten through the tournament, clinching the title with a four-wicket victory over the Kiwis.

On This Day, 50 years ago, India won its first and only #Hockey World Cup title after beating Pakistan in a bitterly contested final. Balbir Singh (Sr), the manager of the Indian team, stressed on the importance of bonding and ensured the team visited a temple, church, gurdwara and masjid a day before the final. Despite being forced to flee to Australia to escape #Taliban, #Afghanistan's women’s cricketers continue to fight to represent their nation. Afghanistan’s women’s team was formed in 2010 but the outfit only played one tournament before conservatives put a stop to any activity involving women and the word ‘sport’. In 2020, the Afghanistan Cricket Board conducted a camp and consequently handed out 25 central contracts with hopes of at least conducting matches with other Islamic countries. Their ambitions were soon torn to bits by the talons of the Taliban.
