    I'll just use a contract template from the internet. What could go wrong? Probably Everything. That's what could go wrong. I learned this the hard way when a client refused to pay, citing loopholes in the contract that I shared with him. ( as I copied it from some “online famous gurus 😂) And guess what? My client denied to work with me. Here's how to avoid my $5000 mistake while preparing your contract: ✔️ DO include: - • Detailed scope of work (prevent scope creep) - • Clear payment terms (when, how much, late fees) - • Intellectual property rights - • Termination clauses ❌ DON'T include: - • Vague language ("reasonable timeframe") - • Unrealistic guarantees ("100% satisfaction") - • Unenforceable terms (non-competes in certain states) Example: Instead of "Project will be completed in a timely manner," use "Project will be delivered by [specific date], with a $X fee for each day of delay of payment." Remember, A solid contract protects both you AND your client.     Picture this : It’s 2AM And you're constantly checking your phone for that 1 notification which says, “ X paid you $____ for your invoice” Hoping, that overdue client payment finally came through. Sounds familiar ? It was me a few months back ( when I started my freelancing journey ) - Late payments - Constantly changing contracts - Late approvals and endless revisions And then, I was like, “I’m never working with clients again”.. I was almost ready to throw in the towel on my freelancing career. But then I realised, the problem wasn't my clients. It was MY LACK OF SYSTEMS. Here's how I turned things around : -> Created contracts with clear payment terms -> Set up automated invoicing & follow up systems -> Developed a detailed onboarding process to set client expectations. Now what? My current clients do rave about our smooth collaboration and I haven't chased a payment in recent times. So, don't blame the client, but improve your systems. P.S : Comment down your go to tool that you use for sending contracts and invoices!

    Tiya, I need your help! He said. “I think I’m gonna let you handle my other business, Do you have bandwidth?” That’s what my client said to me 1 month back, After 6 months of working with him, he asked me to get myself a U.S TIN ( Tax Identification Number ) as he was impressed with the kind of results I’ve generated for him. Before he met me, he'd burned so many $$$ but didn’t see any success. See, All linkedin profiles and businesses don't have the same goal. So what worked for client A might not work for client B. The success metrics for client A can be 10k followers. client B can be getting 5 solid appointments. The reason why I’m sharing this is because, If you’re a freelancer/ agency owner and looking to scale your business,then Focus on these 3 things: - Client Satisfaction & Client Retention. - Maintain a healthy relationship with your clients - Treat the project with a collaborative & partnership mindset. - Never undersell yourself while onboarding any client. (Been there,done that) P.S.     My growth got delayed by 2+3 years, But As I'm writing this, feeling grateful for this life I've built as a full-time freelancer. My 1 year-old self would have never thought this was possible! But here I am, living the dream... most days, at least. But... Let's be real, freelancing isn't always easy. Multiple clients, Multiple responsibilities, And no one to report to but yourself (which can be both a blessing and a curse).
