13 years ago, Soumya Rajan saw a gap between genuine client interests and the wealth management services available. Realising the dearth of client-centric wealth advisory in India, she set out to create an institution with an unwavering focus on clients and their financial needs. And so, Soumya founded Waterfield Advisors in 2011 with an excel sheet, a sincere dream, and one goal: to offer holistic wealth advisory services that truly align with the interests of the client. Today, as Waterfield Advisors turns 13, it feels timely to reiterate our values, mission, and the reason for our existence. This Waterfield Day, we present a glimpse into the ideas that make us who we are. Behind the 13-year story of Waterfield are the unique journeys, dreams, and ambitions of our clients, shaping their financial needs. Their story is at the heart of everything we do. Our role is to provide holistic advice without a conflict of interest in all our dealings with our clients. Today, we have 8 offices across the country in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Goa, Kochi, and Bangalore. We help clients plan, structure and manage their family wealth, working exclusively on their behalf as their dedicated family office. As an advisory firm on the Investment side, we have an open architecture platform working with all the leading product manufacturers across AMCs, PMS and AIF providers. We believe in transparency and unlike other wealth managers and family offices backed by financial institutions, we are pioneering the concept of being a pure advisory firm and do not receive any distribution fees from any product providers and work solely for our client’s benefit, helping them over time to improve their portfolio returns and lower their cost of investment.

If AI can recreate art, how would it impact more quantifiable fields like the financial markets? Note these 3 developments from the recent past - i. Nvidia's stock price precipitously climbed by 14%, a rise deeply tied to the surging demand for its Blackwell AI chip, reflecting the high demand for AI infrastructure. ii. The IMF released a Global Financial Stability Report, highlighting while AI promises faster and more efficient trading, it could also amplify market volatility. iii. The EU AI Act introduced another dimension, demanding greater transparency and ethical compliance from AI developers. Ultimately, this story is about the broader interplay between unparalleled technological progress and the potential risks it brings. Today, we find ourselves at an unprecedented juncture where the delicate balance between innovation and risk must be carefully navigated. How this balance plays out will shape not just the future of technology but also the macroeconomic and societal landscape. In this month’s Vault Digest, we bring to you insightful reads about AI and markets, with a leading story on Semiconductors by Timothy Horsburgh, CFA and Anisha Bhardwaj, Zephyr Management. We hope you like it. #ai #markets #newsletter #innovation
