Women Entrepreneurship Platform

During the NITI State Workshop Series, under NITI Aayog’s State Support Mission, the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) launched several initiatives to drive women-led development through entrepreneurship across diverse sectors. The Key launch initiatives were: 1. Launch of programme for women in retail in Uttar Pradesh - in collaboration with the Government of Uttar Pradesh and New Shop to support women entrepreneurs in the retail sector. 2. Launch of Award to Reward Programme for retail in rural areas- in collaboration with the Reliance Foundation for the State of Madhya Pradesh 3. Launch of the 2nd Programme of GIM under Award to Reward. This programme will support women entrepreneurs in clean energy, the circular economy, eco-friendly products, and sustainable agriculture. 4. On March 20th, 2025, the Women Entrepreneurship Platform, under NITI Aayog's State Support Mission hosted a Workshop on Women-Led Development through Entrepreneurship in New Delhi. The event brought together senor state government officials, entrepreneurs, policymakers, industry leaders, and ecosystem enablers to launch key initiatives and recognize the contributions of various women-led businesses and individuals who contributed towards the success of WEP. On March 20th, 2025, the 4th meeting of the Steering Committee of the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) was held in NITI Aayog, bringing together key stakeholders from government, industry, financial institutions, and the development sector. The Committee noted the growth by way of registered users at 46,000; more than 600 mentors and ever expanding knowledge portal. The success of the Award to Reward programme that saw 720+ women getting impacted in collaboration with 37+industry partners was noted. The Committee advised greater focus on engagement with states and scaling up the efforts.
