About us
We, at WWF, believe that humans can live in harmony with nature. In India, we’re studying snow leopards in the Himalayas, tracking tigers in the Terai and Kanha Pench corridor, working with businesses to develop green modules and with communities to find ways to reduce their dependence on forests, among many other projects. There’s a lot more that we do – and we need people with heart to help us do it. Follow us for the latest adventures and openings at WWF-India

As #WWFIndia gears up to celebrate Earth Hour 2025, we bring you tales of some Earth Hour Water Heroes! Meet Venkata Raju, A Kere Mitra (lake friend) from Doddaballapura, Bengaluru Rural District, who has been actively championing wetland conservation since 2016. As the Assistant District Commissioner for Bharat Scouts and Guides in Bengaluru Rural District, he engages the youth in conservation with hands-on activities, field trips and surveys. He actively serves on multiple conservation committees including Nagarkere Development Committee, and Nagarakere Biodiversity Conservation Committee. His work includes conducting lake surveys, organizing plantation drives, water testing, and bird surveys throughout Doddaballapura. He plays a crucial role in fostering environmental awareness among young people by involving students in conservation activities and field research.
