Smart meters can empower consumers to optimize energy usage and support in the development of a more sustainable and efficient energy system in India. We are pleased to have supported the National Level Workshop on Accelerating Smart Meter Deployments under RDSS. This event gathered key sector actors from government, discoms, industry, regulators and academia to explore effective strategies and share insights for boosting smart meter adoption nationwide. The event included engaging panel discussions where experts exchanged their experiences and success stories. It created valuable networking opportunities to foster collaboration to address challenges and share innovative ideas to accelerate Smart Meter deployments. Update on India Transmission Portal (ITP) indiatransmission.org, developed under the valuable guidance of #CEA. A new page with 3 visualizations on ISTS network as per data from CTU and CEA. As on July, 2024, - 191 schemes are under construction, - 38 schemes under bidding, and - 86 schemes are under approval These, altogether will lead to adding 64k ckm line and 5 lac MVA capacity to ISTS network. Also NR and WR contribute to ~60% of the overall transmission lines (ckm) and transformation capacity (MVA) at ISTS level. Update on India Transmission Portal (ITP) indiatransmission.org, developed under the valuable guidance of #CEA. https://lnkd.in/dks9ikHk This new page has 7 #visualisations on Intra-regional Transfer Capacity as per data from Grid Controller of India Limited. - Total transfer capability (TTC) at Intra-regional level is ~125 GW and GNA allocation is ~90 GW. - Both TTC and GNA are highly concentrated in just 2 regions (northern and western), which together contribute 80% of total. - A similar trend can be found at state level. 15 states contribute ~90% in transfer capability and GNA allocated at national level, out of which 40-45% is contributed by just 4 states (UP, GJ, MP and MH).
