Elon Musk-led Neuralink went live on Wednesday with a presentation on current and future endeavors. The company has announced that the second volunteer for the brain chip implant is ready. The procedure will be done within a week. Earlier, a company executive stated that Arizona native Noland Arbaugh, who received the first historic implant, is doing fairly well. The company stated that the implant used in the patient, who is paralyzed shoulders down from a 2016 diving accident, is now “more or less stable.” During yesterday's presentation, the Neuralink Team, led by Elon Musk, discussed the road ahead. Musk remarked that the venture is inclined toward bestowing human beings with superpowers. In future implants, the company will fix issues, including minor air pockets, and aim to insert threads more precisely. Musk stated that in the future, it will be possible to upgrade newer models for older patients. “We really do everything to maximize the welfare of animals,” the billionaire also remarked on the contentious R&D that was flagged for animal abuse in the past.
