Yesterday, together with our Chief Aviation Officer Ivan Bassato, our Senior Vice President Transformation & Technology Emanuele Calà and our Senior Vice President General Counsel & Compliance Primiano De Maria, we met with the three ground handlers selected for the 2025-2032 period: Aviapartner, Aviation Services S.p.A. and Airport Handling S.p.A. The meeting - held at #Fiumicino airport - was an opportunity to welcome in the Airport Operation Center (APOC) permanent representatives from our ground handling partners and reaffirm the strategic importance of their role at the airport.   As a strong focus was placed on the importance of coordination within the #APOC, the ongoing technological evolution in the sector were also discussed - with a focus on how the adoption of increasingly advanced digital tools (e.g., Assaia – The ApronAI) can optimize airport performances, and collaborate to European Network performance, through a collaborative, continuous improvement approach.   Our handlers’ constant contribution to strengthening operational excellence at Fiumicino airport is highly valued. The last 2 days has truly renewed my love of Italy. The people, the food, the culture all make this such an exciting place to visit. And I’m really pleased that our now 100% owned businesses continue to expand across multiple airports and product lines. Following my recent visit to Rome, it was great to meet both our dnata Airport Handling and Catering teams in Milan. Just returned from a visit to our Airport Handling S.p.A. team at Rome Fiumicino Airport – and I couldn’t be more impressed. The team has every reason to be proud. After months of careful planning, they have pulled off one of the largest ground handling start-ups in the industry. The transition was smooth, safe, and professional – a clear reflection of their dedication and capability. It was especially rewarding to meet some of our newest team members, from the terminal to the ramp. They’ve just joined but already show a strong fit with our culture, values and the pace of our operations. Another highlight was seeing our latest electric equipment in action – proof of the significant progress we’re making as we continue to reduce emissions and transform our fleet globally. With this launch, Rome will become the second largest station in dnata’s global ground handling network. The timing is ideal with the capital preparing for a surge in visitors during the Jubilee year - and we’re proud to support its growing connectivity.
