    These are times of great change, but are we ready to embrace this revolution that AI is bringing? "No, we're not. Also because our approach to AI has always been guided by culture, between movies and books. But, when we want to describe AI today, we have to segment it into two phases, the purpose and who is going to achieve that goal. In the current management of industrial robots, for example, the pattern or the purpose is achieved by the man and the agent becomes the robot. Today, however, the agent is increasingly becoming generative AI. However, today AI does not yet have the ability to define purposes. So, in general, how do companies deal with AI? Today, companies still have a long way to go and they certainly need to understand where the value of the AI used lies, and this lies in process automation, i.e. understanding how to simplify work, making processes more informed, faster, more efficient and effective. New technologies change processes and create value through these mechanisms. In this sense, compared to RPA, for example, AI transforms unstructured data into structured data, freeing people from jobs that do not bring added value". Altilia è testimone e protagonista di questa rivoluzione in atto, perché fornisce ad alcune delle principali assicurazioni italiane la propria piattaforma tecnologica e i propri modelli di AI per automatizzare la gestione dei sinistri e delle polizze. E' bene, però, focalizzare l'attenzione sulla tecnologia necessaria affinché questa rivoluzione si realizzi davvero creando i benefici attesi. Infatti, per semplificare profondamente la gestione dei sinistri, e di tutti gli altri processi operativi in essere nelle assicurazioni come la gestione delle polizze, non basta l'AI generativa in sé. Sono necessarie, invece, piattaforme tecnologiche come quella che Altilia già fornisce a molte assicurazioni. Altilia Intelligent Automation™ è una tecnologia che permette alle assicurazioni di usufruire di assistenti AI e robot AI basati su modelli che, per loro natura e funzionamento, sono unici al mondo.  Più dettagliatamente, gli assistenti AI di Altilia, utilizzano un approccio RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) ad agenti (Agentic AI) nel quale gli agenti sono basati su un modello multi-modale, multi-lingua, multi-strato proprietario di Altilia il quale interpreta in maniera combinata i testi e la struttura dei documenti.     Generative AI will revolutionize claims management. Marco Concordati, Simone Ranucci Brandimarte, EY Italian Insurtech Association - IIA Thank you, you have done a great job Altilia is both a witness and a key player of the ongoing revolution because it provides its technological platform and AI models to some of the leading Italian insurance companies to automate the management of claims, contracts and policies. However, it is essential to focus on the technology required to truly realize this revolution and create the expected benefits. In fact, to profoundly simplify the management of claims and all other operational processes within insurance companies, such as policy management, generative AI alone is not sufficient. Instead, technological platforms like the one Altilia already provides to many Italian insurance companies are necessary. Altilia Intelligent Automation™ is a technology that allows insurance companies to benefit from AI assistants and AI robots based on models that are unique in nature and functionality. More specifically, Altilia's AI assistants use a RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) approach based on Agentic AI in which the agents are based on Altilia's proprietary multi-modal, multi-language, multi-layer model that interprets texts and document structures in a combined manner. This model merges the generative AI capabilities typical of Large Language Models (LLMs) with the discriminative AI capabilities typical of small-scale language models (e.g., BERT), along with computer vision capabilities and knowledge graphs. This way, Altilia's platform can provide the most suitable functionality for a specific purpose when and where needed. For example, the accuracy of discriminative AI is used for segmenting and classifying documents and extracting relevant data, while generative AI enhanced by the semantic power of knowledge graphs is used for answering questions and generating texts or documents. Regardless of the format of claim documents (e.g., PDFs, images, scans even with handwritten text), Altilia Intelligent Automation™ enables the creation of AI assistants and AI robots capable of automatically reading, understanding, and processing all claim-related documents or accurately answering questions regarding policy conditions.
