This is an annual opportunity for everyone to promote and gain knowledge in first aid. This day is meant to encourage the public to learn how to practice basic first aid techniques so that as many people as possible know what to do in an emergency. Each year 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐢𝐝 𝐃𝐚𝐲 has a different theme, and this year's theme is "First Aid in the Digital World." 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟗𝐭𝐡 - 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐎𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲 On August 19, the world celebrates International Orangutan Day: an occasion to raise awareness about the importance of their protection, spread the scientific knowledge available about these beautiful animals and encourage the preservation of their habitat. Orangutans are part of the group of anthropomorphic apes, those primates most similar to humans, and share about 97 percent of the genes with our species. Malaysia and Indonesia are the only places where orangutans live, and there are three different species there, all, unfortunately, endangered. This form of cancer affects about 38,000 people a year in Italy, and in 90 percent of cases the cause is cigarette smoking. Hepatitis is an inflammation that affects the liver and in almost all cases it is driven by a virus, but it can also be a consequence of substance abuse, foremost among them alcohol, or be driven by autoimmune disorders.
