🚀 A team of researchers at Google recently published a fascinating paper where they used a diffusion model to recreate an interactive version of the classic game Doom, essentially turning it into a game engine. They trained the model by allowing a Reinforcement Learning agent to play the game and used the recorded sessions as training data. 🔍 The result? The model can predict the next frame at 20 frames per second (fps), with predictions conditioned on the user's actions, making it an interactive experience. 📢 So, why is this so compelling? The model learned the game’s world and rules entirely from video data, without needing direct knowledge of the underlying code. This could open the door to diffusion models acting as world simulators, with vast potential for diverse applications! #AI #Game #Google
