Glad to have taken part as one of context keynote speakers in the 2nd Working Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Education “Regulating the use of #AI systems in #education”, organised by the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. The question "Why AI Regulation is Needed?”, I was asked to contribute on, aims to support reflection on the key role of AI in ensuring #equitable access to education, especially in the qualification #recognition and academic international mobility. AI could support #streamlining recognition processes, but data and process governance, AI literacy, information and practices sharing, and proper #regulatory safeguards should be taken into consideration, to avoid the #risks posed by unregulated automation. This afternoon, with CIMEA colleagues Serena Spitalieri and Giselle Heleg, we will also be leading the workshop "AI Literacy: Higher Education and Recognition of Qualifications Perspective". Looking forward to continue contributing together to a holistic approach to AI in education to support quality and human-centred processes in #recognition of qualifications, access and admission to #highereducation education.
