In our previous episodes, we explored housing discrimination from the perspectives of individuals with migratory backgrounds and housing providers. However, housing discrimination involves more than just tenants and landlords. In this episode, we speak with professionals from civil society organizations and public authorities in Italy, Greece, and Malta. They share their hands-on experiences, discuss their challenges in facilitating housing access, and share some strategies they use to overcome these obstacles. A fine settembre il centro San Gaetano ha ospitato un workshop di un gruppo di studenti dell’Alta Scuola Politecnica del PoliMi e PoliTO. Insieme a Homers, brand di Homes4All Srl Società Benefit B Corp, e a Fondazione Impact Housing, gli studenti hanno incontrato i partner di progetto e la comunità locale raccogliendo bisogni e desideri per elaborare una innovativa proposta di rigenerazione urbana. 🌱 “Siamo felici che la nostra idea di progetto sia stata accolta con tanto entusiasmo” dichiara la direttrice di Fondazione Impact Housing Giorgia Di Cintio. “Ringraziamo tutti i nostri interlocutori, in particolare il sindaco Rinaldo Melucci e l’assessore al patrimonio Marcello Murgia per la disponibilità dimostrata nel voler costruire percorsi concreti di riuso del patrimonio immobiliare” aggiunge Matteo Robiglio founder di Homers e professore al PoliTO. La nuova finanza ad impatto è la chiave per un cambiamento reale. 🌍🔑 🌱 L’impact investing è composto da una serie di strumenti finanziari che hanno come obiettivo quello di generare cambiamenti positivi per le comunità e il territorio. Non si parla né di filantropia né di capitali pazienti: oggi l’impact economy è maturata e la remunerazione degli strumenti di finanza a impatto risulta allineata ai rendimenti di mercato. In questo contesto è fondamentale connettere i rendimenti ai risultati di impatto ambientale e sociale raggiunti. ✨ Emerge l’importanza di indentificare strumenti di monitoraggio e valutazione idonei. Secondo Giovanna Melandri – Presidente di Social Impact Agenda per l’Italia, National Advisory Board del Global Steering Group for Impact Investment - il tema della valutazione dell’impatto è centrale poiché “quando trattiamo questo tipo di investimenti il rischio del green o social washing è reale. È quindi necessario dotarsi di partner terzi in grado di misurare il valore generato rispetto agli obiettivi di impatto definiti ex-ante.” 📈 Gli asset manager oggi hanno la possibilità di contribuire a un modello differente di creazione del valore, generando un cambiamento che investe direttamente il modo in cui si fa impresa e si investono i capitali. La sfida è usare dunque le risorse in modo efficiente ed efficace. 🏠 Siamo di fronte a un’occasione unica per dotarci di modelli e strumenti capaci di affrontare le sfide dell’abitare, e non solo, misurando e valutando gli effetti che i progetti finanziati saranno in grado di generare nelle città e per le comunità. I am thrilled to share that I participated as an external guest in the #CoHabitat festival in #Geneva, promoted by the @CohabitatNetwork and urbaMonde.🚀 Housing professionals and practitioners who enthusiastically want to face the new challenges of affordable housing by seeking shared and effective solutions. 💡 I am happy to have been invited to present the experience of Fondazione Impact Housing and of the European Impact Housing Network in experimenting with housing practices that aim to drive lasting positive economic, environmental and social impacts.🌱 Bon travail à tous 🤓

Oggi nella plenaria del #ParlamentoEuropeo si è discusso della questione abitativa 🏘️ La nuova Commissione Europa prevede per la prima volta nella sua formazione un commissario con delega all’#Housing, testimoniando che l’accesso agli alloggi inclusivi ed efficienti energeticamente è diventato un asse prioritario e strategico. Dalla seduta è emersa è la necessità di riflettere su nuove normative e strumenti di pianificazione e su investimenti utili ad aumentare il numero di alloggi disponibili anche tramite la riqualificazione dello stock esistente. ✍ Sono 11 milioni le case vuote in Europa mentre il loro prezzo è aumentato del 17% negli ultimi 10 anni. “Bisogna intervenire in modo ambizioso e con rapidità” afferma il vice presidente della Commissione Margaratis Schoinas. 🏘️ I’m in Thessaloniki for the final Come HoMe peer visit, and this project means so much to me. #Housing has always been my main focus, but addressing the discrimination in access to housing for people with migratory backgrounds feels like we’re truly making a difference. It’s a small yet vital issue that often doesn’t get enough attention, and I’m proud we’re shining a light on it. During this visit, we’re not only reflecting on the progress we've made but also: -> Sharing the final research results and prototype solutions that our partners have developed. -> Visiting social housing pilots where vacant public buildings are being repurposed to support inclusive housing. -> Engaging with local stakeholders and individuals with lived experiences to better understand housing discrimination in practice. It’s been especially fulfilling to bring my design background into the project, helping our partners not just focus on the problem but also prototype real, actionable solutions. I look forward to continuing this work, ensuring that housing equality remains at the forefront of our cities’ future.
