INFINITE joined the Impact Days in Hallein, an annual event hosted by RENOWAVE.AT eG, Austria’s innovation lab for climate-neutral renovation. This edition featured the first exhibition dedicated to industrialised renovation, where research projects and industry players showcased their advancements in sustainable and efficient #building construction. Participants could discover new technologies shaping the future of building renovation, and exhibitors took part in a speed ”meeting”, that facilitated knowledge exchange with industry experts from across Europe. INFINITE’s participation at the event is in line with our commitment to accelerating the adoption of #prefabricated #renovation solutions. INFINITE project will participate again in the Energiesprong IT #Renovation Days, taking place on 13-14 November at the Cariplo Factory in Milan. After a successful first edition in 2023, the event will be reorganized by EDERA - enabling deep regeneration, INFINITE partner, and it will seek to accelerate sustainable redevelopment for Milan’s public residential buildings through innovative technical, economic, and procurement models. INFINITE aligns with Energiesprong’s mission of achieving large-scale, zero-energy building retrofits via industrialization and digitalization. A workshop on offsite solutions for #socialhousing buildings will feature key findings from the research done during INFINITE. With the installation of the VORTICE S.p.a. ventilation machine in the #prefabricated #facades, the Slovenian demo case is one step closer to the finish line! The installation was done at the local factory Žiher hiše, and the prefabricated facades set to be installed on the demo building in the coming weeks. Involving all stakeholders in #deepretrofit of buildings is one of the key for a a successful #buildingrenovation. At the SDEWES Centre conference, Stefano Avesani senior researcher from Eurac Research presented the integrated repository of industrialized development solutions that is being developed under INFINITE project. The repository is organized into two main components: ➡ A matrix of #envelope solutions (technologies). ➡ A matrix of deep #renovation projects using industrialized approaches. The goals of the hub are: ✅ To serve as a European-wide reference for industrialized renovation solutions. ✅ To provide a robust, multi-domain data set with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to compare technologies and projects. ✅ To facilitate quantitative and comparative analysis of different solutions. We ask Stefano what is the main challenge he envisions. "To engage the scientific and industrial community, in order to contribute to populating and maintaining the repository in the medium term". We are sure this will be a great tool for architects, designers, engineers, #construction professionals, building owners, real estate developers to make informed decisions when renovating buildings. Slovenian demo updates! 📢 The scaffolding is up, and we're ready for the next phase of renovation: the roof level is being prepared for demolition, making way for 6 new apartments in #prefabricated wooden modules starting this October. Thanks to the lightweight wooden modules, we're adding an entirely new floor to the existing building: this approach allows for a seamless extension while minimising structural impact. Here it is! 👉 The demo is part of a large-scale renovation project covering 207 homes under the EnergieSprong FR programme. 👉 These homes are being upgraded to NZEB standards. 👉 The INFINITE prefabricated BIPV #façades produced off-site will be installed in one building. 👉 Potential #PVintegration on the roof is also being explored. 👉The renovation also includes exterior insulation, upgraded heat pumps, and modernized electrical systems. This project marks the first of its scale in France, transforming poorly insulated houses into near #Passivhaus efficiency.
