We had a great time hosting Silvia Vernotico and Giulia Giori from Farmaceutica Younger at our Bolognana plant! They got a behind-the-scenes look at our operations and participated in a panel discussion with local politicians, KOLs, and patient and donor associations. We're so grateful for their partnership and for their commitment to bringing new ideas and young voices to the pharmaceutical industry. This is something that is very important to us at Kedrion, and we're excited to continue working together to make a difference.

Buona visione 🍿

The voice of plasma-derived medicines needs to be heard. Kedrion is actively working with our trade association, Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA) to ensure access to therapies through a well-functioning ecosystem that includes plasma collection and fractionation. Our industry’s uniqueness enables millions of patients to receive treatment and lead normal lives. Yesterday, PPTA President Anita Brikman and our Chief Communications Officer, Duccio Manetti, PhD met in New York to discuss the future of the industry and ongoing initiatives with policymakers and key stakeholders. “Kedrion is grateful to PPTA and Anita for the renewed energy and commitment our trade association brings to the industry. Only through their support can we ensure all players continue to operate in a sustainable, patient-centered way“ - Duccio Manetti

"At Kedrion we recognize that living with a Primary Immunodeficiency is not just a medical condition; it's a journey that profoundly impacts lives, families, and loved ones. We are honored to be a part of the journey. Only by working together we can effectively address the unmet needs of PID patients.” Ugo Di Francesco, CEO at Kedrion Biopharma. It was a privilege to open with these words the 𝙄𝙋𝙊𝙋𝙄 𝙋𝙄𝘿 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙨, a prestigious ceremony organized during the XVIII IPOPI Global Patients Meeting and supported by Kedrion with an unconditional grant. It was an occasion to honor and meet patients and patients’ association representatives who fight everyday to increase awareness, support research, and advocate for policies that will benefit the PID patient community. The Global Patients Meeting was held in Marseille on the same days of the ESID 2024. October 14, 2024, was a significant day for Kedrion! We gathered key players from the plasma-derived medicines ecosystem at our plasma fractionation plant in Italy, including politicians, institutional bodies, and associations.   Once again, we thank all the individuals who joined us at our recent event at the Bolognana plant, including the President of the Tuscany Region Eugenio Giani, the Director of the Italian National Blood Center Vincenzo De Angelis, the President of AVIS Nazionale Gianpietro Briola, members of FRATRES, AIP, and EUPATI, and many other institutional and political representatives. Your presence was invaluable, and we are honored to have had the opportunity to share our mission with you.   To everyone in our LinkedIn network who was not there, we hope you enjoy the spirit of unity and progress reflected in the attached video 😊. The healthcare system succeeds ONLY when we all come together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.

🩺 Do you know what it feels like always to be labelled as the ‘sick one’? This is how Diane Motes, a registered nurse and Primary Immunodeficiency (PID) patient, described her life before being diagnosed in 2019. After years of battling unexplained illnesses, Diane finally found answers and now uses her experience to raise awareness about the importance of early diagnosis for PID patients.   At the #ESID2024 Meeting in Marseilles, we are proud to share Diane’s powerful story, highlighting our commitment to supporting patients with rare diseases. Her journey highlights why raising awareness of Primary immunodeficiency warning signs can make all the difference. 💙   Find out more about Diane’s inspiring journey at https://lnkd.in/ex8ncEF4   #WeAreKedrion #ESID2024 #PrimaryImmunodeficiency #DiseaseAwareness

Today was a special day for Kedrion in Italy, as we opened our doors to a delegation of institutional and political representatives, and donors and patient associations at our production hub in Bolognana, Italy. We had the opportunity to illustrate the crucial journey of plasma in the production of therapies for rare diseases, and to reaffirm our support to communities. With our experience in treating rare diseases, we are committed to enhancing the production capacity of the Bolognana plant to ensure ever greater access to plasma-derived medicines globally. Plasma is the connection between the generosity of donors and patient care, and we are here to transform this gift into vital therapies. Thank you to all the institutional guests and associations that participated in the event, helping to promote an open and collaborative dialogue that centers on people and communities. #Kedrion #Plasma #RareDiseases #Biopharmaceuticals #Innovation

💛💪🏻For #IPAW2024 we want to ask an important question to our LinkedIn community: Do you donate plasma? If you do - why do you donate? We know that sometimes the answer is straightforward, sometimes it needs a good cup of tea and a comfortable chair to tell - but every story is special because every donation matters! Share your #DropsOfPlasmaWisdom to tell us why you donate and help us raise awareness during and after #IPAW2024!

Let's learn more about #plasma during the International Plasma Awareness Week! #IPAW2024 Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA)

Did you know that plasma-derived medicines are used for everyday medical needs? For instance, Rh immunoglobulins (RhIg) are used to treat pregnant women with Rh incompatibility. During pregnancy, a mismatch in the type of rhesus (Rh) factor (a protein found on the surface of red blood cells), between a mother and fetus can lead to hemolytic disease of the newborn (HDN). Rh incompatibility occurs when a Rh-negative mother is carrying a Rh-positive fetus. In that case, the mother’s immune system sees the red blood cells of the fetus as foreign and develops antibodies which attack them. This can cause severe anemia in the fetus or newborn, as well as jaundice as the broken-down red blood cells produce bilirubin. The level of bilirubin in the infant's blood may range from mild to dangerously high. Plasma-derived Rh immunoglobulins (RhIg) administered during pregnancy can neutralize the fetus’s Rh-positive red blood cells, preventing maternal sensitization and HDN. 🖖🏻💛Meet Alexandra, a student in Prague who's found a way to make a real difference in her spare time. She's donating plasma, knowing it's crucial for helping people with immune deficiencies and other serious conditions. Alexandra's only on her second donation, but she already knows her body quickly replenishes what's given, so she feels great about it. Even better, she's found a supportive community of like-minded students at the plasma center, making it a rewarding social experience. Alexandra is the perfect ambassador for #IPAW24, spreading the word and joining #DropsofPlasmaWisdom. Inspired by her story? Tag a friend who you think would be an amazing plasma donor, or someone who might be interested in learning more! #plasmadonation #giveplasma
