API6A DuEX: now PR2 qualified OMB DuEX API6A Series has successfully passed the prototype test in accordance with the stringent API6A PR2 requirements. This important milestone was achieved at OMB’s BUTI Research & Development Lab, under the close supervision of a third-party witness. The PR2 test elevates the component to extreme high and low temperatures whilst dynamically cycling it under various pressure conditions to ensure the integrity of the seals and mechanics of the component. This achievement underscores our unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and industry standards. Introducing DuEX for Molecular Sieve Service. OMB Valves will introduce the DuEX eccentric ball valve for molecular sieve service at GasTech 2024. This innovative valve, boasting a simple ¼ turn design and minimal moving parts, ensures consistent torque and shut-off performance even when faced with desiccant carryover. The DuEX valve is specifically engineered for molecular sieve switching applications, where dehydration bed switching valves are expected to perform continuously for up to five years. Remarkably, during this operational period, the valve will handle approximately 1,100 cycles annually, totaling around 5,500 cycles. Angelo and his team successfully completed helium gas testing on 48" 1500 class ball valves for an offshore gas field in Saudi Arabia!
