Chi siamo

The Olimpia Milan Basketball Club was founded in 1936: in the same year it won its first Italian championship. In its history, Olimpia has won 30 Italian championships, 8 Italian Cups, 3 European championships, 3 Cups of Cup winners, 2 Korac Cups, an Intercontinental Cup and 4 Italian Super Cups, as well as 23 youth championships. It is the most successful Italian club. Five coaches or players affiliated to the Olimpia are part of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame: Cesare Rubini, Sandro Gamba, Dino Meneghin, Bill Bradley and Bob McAdoo. Three jersey numbers have been retired: Arthur Kenney's number 18, Mike D’Antoni's and Sandro Gamba’s number 8 and Dino Meneghin's number 11. They are symbols not only of wins but also of the values promoted by the club, such as sacrifice, loyalty, team spirit, competitiveness. Olimpia was the first European club team to participate in the first official tournament with NBA teams, in Milwaukee in 1987, and in 2015 it became the first European basketball team to play official games on American soil with Maccabi Tel Aviv, in NBA arenas, in Chicago and New York. The club has been owned by the Armani Group since 2008 – he's the title sponsor since 2004 - and it has set the new Italian records of averages attendance at home games. It is also the only Italian team admitted to the EuroLeague, the top European club competition. The Armani Junior Program has also been active since 2008, a program that promotes basketball activity, and the principles of loyalty and fairness through sports, which includes over 120 clubs not only in the Milan metropolitan area.
