BIOMEDICAL APPLICATIONS: Blood flows into our body carrying oxygen that is the fuel needed for our muscles and organs to work. Brain oxygenation changes when we move our limbs or when we solve complex problems and anomalies in blood flow can suggest dangerous illnesses such as sepsis in newborns and brain strokes. At pioNIRS we are developing the next generation of non-invasive devices for portable tissue oxygenation monitoring to be able to better understand the language of our body. The NIRS world is intricated and your research needs easy access to top technologies whether it has to do with functional neuro-feedback, oxygenation monitoring, or tissue properties analysis. FOOD AND AGRICOLTURE: The good news is that pioNIRS' laser light can also extract information from any diffusive media, like fruits and vegetables and it is independent of the state and color of the peel outside. The estimation of the internal chemical and physical property is performed without any kind of contamination. Retrieved optical properties can be correlated with conventional quality parameters (firmness, total soluble solids, acidity) and with the noninvasive detection of internal defects. pioNIRS products allow the producer and distributor to know the optimal time for harvest and distribution. Handing the possibility to drastically reduce waste and to offer better food products with certified quality. Unlike the devices currently on the market, the pioNIRS system uses innovative optical technologies that allow for greater reproducibility and accuracy with rapid measurements, both in the field and on the production line.
