A couple of weeks ago I joined an insightful panel at #GITEXGlobal2024 in #Dubai, where we explored “The Quantum Shield: Next-Gen Security for Network Infrastructure.” It was a pleasure to share insights with industry innovators like Kazuhiro (Kazu) Gomi, NTT Research, Stefano Resi, Nokia and @Steve Nouri, GenAI Works. We focused on the imminent impact of quantum computing on classical cryptographic approaches and how #quantum-safe networks enabled by both #QKD and #PQC will be vital to securing our #digital infrastructure and establishing the #connectivity of tomorrow. I was impressed by the notable turnout at the panel, which indicated growing awareness towards the potential of quantum technologies in the cyber sector. 🚀 On the 8th and 9th of October, Enterprise Communications Group took part in one of the most important events in the cybersecurity sector #Cybertech! 🚀 The conference successfully brought together industry leaders, innovators and cybersecurity enthusiasts from Europe and around the world. Cybertech Europe 2024 explored cutting-edge solutions, emerging challenges and the latest technological breakthroughs, aiming to collectively navigate the cyber future. 🚀 Eng. La Quantum Key Distribution (#QKD) è stata tra le soluzioni che hanno attirato maggiore interesse allo stand Telsy e TIM Enterprise, viste anche le sue recenti applicazioni di successo in Italia e in Europa insieme a QTI SRL. Per l’occasione, tra i seminari che hanno animato lo stand, è stato nostro ospite Konstantin Ivanov di Enterprise Communications Group dalla #Bulgaria. From 14th to 18th October, the #space community gathered at the 75th International Astronautical Congress (#IAC) held in #Milan. On October 16th, INRiM - Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica hosted the event “EuroQCI Italy - for the Italian and European Quantum Strategy” in Turin to present #Italy's quantum communication network, which will be part of the broader European network under the #EuroQCI project. We were thrilled to participate in the event as #industrypartner of the #QUID project—the national initiative for the EuroQCI deployment in Italy, and reinforce our commitment to the Project's goals. QUID focuses on integrating #QuantumKeyDistribution (QKD) technology into existing #telecom infrastructure, enhancing #communicationsecurity and supporting Italy's technological #innovation. The event, which gathered representatives of Italian and #European institutions and leading industrial and academic entities involved in the development of secure #quantumcommunications, was the occasion to highlight the #progress made by the 18 partners to the Project and discuss the way #ahead. ➤ #QKD and Photonic Integrated Circuits (#PICs). We are thrilled to announce the publication of our latest #research on PICs and their game-changing role in advancing #quantum technologies for #securecommunications. In this work, we successfully demonstrated how PICs can significantly enhance quantum communication systems. By implementing the three-state #BB84 protocol with a decoy-state method, and utilizing #integrated receivers and #superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors, we managed to extract a #secretkey over 45 dB channel attenuation, enhancing the #distance and the #robustness of quantum communications. On the 15th of October, in conjunction with the #G7 Tech and Digital Ministerial Meeting, the #TECH7, the leading ICT associations from G7 countries, together with representatives of #ICT Italian companies, gathered in #Cernobbio to discuss the strategic priorities on #digital for the 2025 Canadian G7 Presidency. #QTI had the opportunity to contribute to the #roundtable led by Anitec Assinform, highlighting the need for governments to be aware of the full spectrum of technologies available to foster innovation, including #quantumtechnologies, and at the same time take action to enhance the #security of digital infrastructures to counter new cyber threats.
