More than a decade of building with timber in the Netherlands: Rothoblaas #Netherlands is officially operational as of January 1st. In 2013, Peter Lang set out to explore the Dutch market—a unique place where sustainability isn’t just a buzzword but a lifestyle. In a country where most buildings are below sea level and bicycle paths outsize car roads, green thinking is deeply ingrained. The Netherlands has proven to be an extraordinary setting for timber construction. Over the years, Rothoblaas has contributed to some of Europe’s most significant multi-storey timber buildings here. One project even required the largest number of SPIDER brackets we’ve ever supplied for a single construction, earning our General Manager, Temur Goshadze, the nickname "Spider-Man." Today, we are part of an extraordinary venture: a project that could become the largest timber post-and-beam building in the world. This represents not only an opportunity to showcase Rothoblaas solutions but also to highlight timber as a key material for future skylines. The Dutch subsidiary has grown thanks to the dedication of many colleagues. Joder Nicolas, Emiel Holthof, Herbert Neijnens, and Christjen Rijckmans-Roekens all contributed to establishing a strong presence in this market before passing the torch to our current general manager, Temur Goshadze. Temur now leads an exceptional team, including Terence Henkel, Bas Evers, and Ricardo Oliveira, who joined the squad from Rothoblaas Portugal. The international spirit of Rothoblaas is alive and well in Rotterdam. Every step forward reflects the passion of a team committed to making a difference. Here’s to the future of timber construction in the Netherlands, built step by step with determination and vision.
