    In September, Marrakech became the stunning backdrop for Safilo's exclusive experience with Eyewear by David Beckham, celebrating the perpetual license agreement with a select group of clients. During the trip the guests were also invited to attend an amazing gala dinner at Beldi Country Club where they had a special encounter with David Beckham himself who shared his vision for the new 2025 collection.  This one-of-a-kind event also offered an exclusive networking opportunity and a deep-dive into Safilo’s creative process. #thesafiloway #SeeTheWorldAtItsBest

    We have signed a perpetual license agreement with Authentic Brands Group, for David Beckham Eyewear. Under the new agreement, Safilo will continue to oversee the entire value chain, including the design process creatively led by David Beckham, through to its production and global distribution. This marks another milestone within our strategy. By transforming David Beckham into a perpetual license, we secure another cornerstone of our portfolio with one of the most successful eyewear brands of recent years.     We continue our sustainability journey: our near-term science-based targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), a partnership between the CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), which promotes ambitious climate action in the private sector by enabling organizations to set science-based emissions reduction targets. The SBTi evaluated Safilo's scope 1 and 2 target ambitions as in line with a trajectory of limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. Safilo’s near-term science-based targets are to reduce scope 1 and 2 GHG absolute emissions by 70% by 2030 from a 2022 base year, and to reduce scope 3 GHG absolute emissions from purchased goods and services and upstream transportation and distribution by 25% within the same timeframe. #thesafiloway #SeeTheWorldAtItsBest

    We are pleased to announce that we have signed an agreement for the acquisition of a minority stake in Spaarkly – a digitally native company that specializes in developing innovative e-commerce solutions using augmented reality technologies. The collaboration with Spaarkly began in December 2022 when Safilo launched Polaroid’s new “Instant Try-on” experience, allowing everyone to virtually and instantly try the new Polaroid collection. Since then, Safilo has been using Spaarkly’s ARshades, a complete suite of software and services for virtual eyewear try-on, to enhance above all Polaroid and Carrera’s e-commerce websites.     We are pleased to attend MIDO, the largest international event dedicated to eyewear, taking place at Fiera Milano in Rho-Pero from 3rd to 5th February 2024.  With a surface area of over 800 square meters, the Safilo stand has been renovated with an open façade architecture that allows visitors to see inside the areas dedicated to our Home brands Carrera and Polaroid.
