The 5-year clinical trial results of Essilor Stellest lenses have just been published in Eye and Vision. The findings demonstrate the continued efficacy of the lenses in slowing #myopiaprogression and axial elongation over five years*, saving an average of three years of myopia development.** The study also highlights the ethical approach of using extrapolated control groups in long-term myopia trials. In 1995, Luxottica acquired LensCrafters and became the first manufacturer to directly enter the optical retail business. Having opened its doors in Florence, Kentucky in 1983, Lenscrafters transformed the optical industry with a revolutionary vision to provide customers with quality prescription eyeglasses in an hour; the first of many innovative concepts that led to its remarkable growth and success.
