🔍 Sustainability Report 2023: commitment and progress 🌱 Once again this year, we are excited to share the progress we have made on our journey towards an increasingly sustainable business model. 🌍 Sustainability strategy in action: our report is an expression of our ongoing commitment to a sustainable future. We have worked diligently to understand and measure the impact of our products on ecosystems and biodiversity, identifying areas for improvement. ♻️ Circular economy at the heart: the recovery of plastic materials remains at the heart of our industrial strategy, aimed at achieving decarbonisation targets and reducing raw material consumption. We adopt solutions to extend the useful life of products and material use cycles, consolidating an increasingly sustainable business. 📊 Measurement and transparency: we are implementing systems to measure, report and control the environmental impact of our production processes in order to operate sustainably and effectively. Our focus on quality is ISO 9001 certified, ensuring maximum transparency and reliability for our stakeholders. 🤝 Collaboration and innovation: we collaborated closely with stakeholders and partners, using shared expertise to realize joint projects in the field of circular economy and environmental sustainability. This collective approach has enabled us to achieve goals that would have been difficult to achieve individually. 🎓 Recycling education: we firmly believe that sustainable growth also comes through recycling education. New stakeholders have joined our network, aware of their responsibilities towards society and the environment. 📋 Ethical and regulatory commitment: the adoption of the Organisation and Management Model pursuant to Legislative Decree 231/2001 and the code of ethics promotes a corporate culture based on ethics and respect for legality. Although not obliged to do so by EU Directive 2022/2464, we consider it our duty to offer a comprehensive view of our operations, including values and relations with the environment. ✅ Certified by independent entity Dimitto: The 2023 Sustainability Report has been assured by Dimitto Certification Services , an independent body that certifies the content of our sustainability report, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our disclosures. Sermag ricerca, sviluppa e produce compounds poliolefinici ed elastomerici con materie prime da riciclo in ottica di economia circolare e sostenibilità. Costituita nel 2003, oggi è un’azienda affermata nel campo dei materiali plastici da riciclo. Questo risultato è stato raggiunto grazie ad un percorso evolutivo e di progressiva crescita negli anni attraverso collaborazioni universitarie e la creazione del “Laboratorio Materie Plastiche Circolari”, un laboratorio specializzato per le plastiche con particolari competenze che hanno permesso all’azienda di acquisire, brevetti e certificazioni da enti accreditati nell’ambito delle plastiche rigenerate. Sermag crede nella collaborazione e nella condivisione di know-how, per questo ha creato un network industriale tramite contratto di rete con aziende italiane con cui coopera sia a livello produttivo sia nelle attività di ricerca e sviluppo. 🌍 “Climate action beyond rhetoric: a call to governments and industries” The 2024 Emissions Gap Report by UNEP (United Nations Environment Program) reports a worrying situation for global emissions reductions, calling for urgent need for stronger action by states and industries. 👉This report was released just before COP29, the international climate change summit scheduled for November 2024, and highlights how, despite years of agreements and promises, greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise. This highlights a now undeniable truth: the gap between sustainability promises and the reality of concrete actions remains wide. 👉At SERMAG, we resonate with this call to action. We are proud to have undertaken an LCA and Carbon Footprint analysis of our products, carried out by Proplast with the invaluable collaboration of Marco Monti. That will soon to be certified by IMQ, to help drive our commitment toward a circular and sustainable production model, minimizing the environmental impact of our industry. One year ago we joined young talent to talk about a sustainable future 🌍 Last October was a special moment for us at SERMAG, when our CEO, Andrea Rosmino, had the honour of attending an event at the university dedicated to the topics of environment, climate and virtuous recycling. Together with industry experts and influential figures, Andrea Rosmino shared the crucial importance of our work in recycling plastics and promoting a circular economy. In front of over 400 students, it was a pleasure to discuss practical solutions to combat pollution and reduce environmental impact. 👉 At SERMAG, we firmly believe that recycling is much more than an industrial process.
