Can EU computing power redefine the boundaries of #AI-driven innovation? Later today, our AI Director Sébastien Bratières will participate in the annual #EuroHPC meeting. He will explain why high-performance computing (HPC) is essential for unleashing AI-driven industrial innovation and scientific discovery. In his address, he will also outline the critical need for technology innovators—like us—to access large-scale computing infrastructures (including commercial ones) to stay competitive in AI and deep learning, both for applied research and technology development. This vision also underpins our EU research projects. If Europe aims to lead in AI, it must invest in computing power and support AI SMEs to scale breakthrough technologies.

Here are a few takeaways: ↳ 🤝 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻-𝗔𝗜 𝘀𝘆𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 — success comes from finding the right workflows that combine AI capabilities and human expertise, not replacing one with the other. ↳ 📈 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝘆 — specialized AI solutions can achieve breakthrough results with far fewer resources than general-purpose models. ↳ 💡 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗜 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 — start as a power user, apply AI to your domain expertise, then build solutions for identified gaps. ↳ ⚖️ 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 — we should regulate what we want to prevent, not the tools themselves. ↳ 🚀 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 — AI will create new opportunities and markets, but success requires embracing change and continuous learning. I particularly liked Marco's comments on what good vs bad regulation looks like.
