UNIQUE BY NAME, UNIQUE BY DNA! The Darkmoon collection by U-BOAT is enriched with a new specimen that has made its uniqueness its own name. A watch that seems to emerge from the depths of the sea, from unexplored abysses, from places forgotten over time. Always fascinated by vintage objects, with a story to tell and shaped by time, Italo Fontana, designer of U-BOAT, decides to apply this passion of his to the Darkmoon collection, creating a one-of-a-kind 44mm watch: Unico! A bridge between the past and the future, a numbered edition watch that plays with modernity and the stylistic elements of the past. A highly individual creation, a testament to craftsmanship and "handmade," since each piece will always be different from the others. Characterized by a bronze PVD steel case, Unico has received a special manual treatment with various overlapped acids, in order to create an oxidized and antiqued effect that also involved the dial under the high-quality anti-reflective domed sapphire glass. The case is then completely filled with an oil bath, according to the innovative Oil Immersion concept, combined with the compensating bubble and the also domed dial, with black numbers and indices, amplifying the three-dimensional visual effect on the latter and the imperfections, always different, given by oxidation and which make each watch "one of a kind." #watchesandwonders #uboatwatch #darkmoon #italofontana

The diver from the Tuscan maison of Italo Fontana is gearing up for the depths with an elegant 46mm Damascus steel case and its fascinating lines and aesthetic variations. Who says a dive watch can't have an elegant and refined image that complements our daily lives? Despite retaining technical features that allow for reaching the most extreme depths, dive watches are more commonly found on our wrists every day than in the most remote abysses, so why not make them trendy too? With this idea in mind, Italo Fontana decides to revisit the case of his quintessential diver, the Sommerso watch, giving it a new look through the use of Damascus steel. With its captivating aesthetic effect due to its particular and ancient steelmaking technique, it covers the entire watch without neglecting the rotating bezel and case back. A play of lines and aesthetic variations, forged by the process, chase each other, capturing the curious eye of the wearer and softening the austere and technical spirit typical of dive watches. A different view of time, where the elements that make the watch suitable for the most extreme conditions remain, but are softened, smoothed, and transformed into details of elegance and sophistication.

Parallel lines that outline and shape the concept of time. They stretch it, soften it as if to extend it towards infinity. New geometries, new three-dimensionality, new spaces and grooves intrigue the sight and allow the observer to experience and perceive the passage of hours, minutes, and seconds with a different vision. Over spring break, I had the incredible opportunity to embark on one of Drexel’s Intensive Courses Abroad in the picturesque city of Florence, Italy, and I can't help but reminisce about what an amazing experience the journey across Tuscany was! From the first moment I set foot in Florence, I found myself entranced by its vibrant culture, awe-inspiring art, and rich history. Each step along the city's narrow cobblestone streets, adorned with Renaissance treasures, felt like stepping into a living masterpiece.  And let's not forget the culinary delights – indulging in authentic Italian cuisine was a feast for both the senses and the soul. Guided by esteemed instructor Chris Finnin, Ed. D. the course seamlessly blended academic rigor with hands-on learning.  Whether it was a chat with Deloitte Florence's M&A team, a walk through the production of U-BOAT Italo Fontana's luxury watches with General Manger Roberto Sacchi, or taking a deep dive into the nuances of the global wine industry with Podere Cappacia with Administrator Alyson Morgan, the experience was nothing short of transformative.  As a way to give back to the city that so graciously hosted us, our group spent an afternoon with Angeli del Bello, an organization dedicated to maintaining the city’s natural beauty by combatting urban degradation, underscoring the importance of responsible citizenship and community engagement.  Beyond the classroom, this immersive experience fostered deep connections with fellow students who share a passion for business, creating bonds that will last a lifetime. Exploring Florence together, sharing stories over gelato, and marveling at the breathtaking views from Piazzale Michelangelo created memories that I will cherish forever. Moreover, my time in Florence provided a unique opportunity to broaden my global perspective through firsthand experiences. In an increasingly interconnected world, understanding and respecting diverse perspectives is paramount. Engaging with these accomplished individuals, learning from their journeys, and embracing the city's timeless allure served as a wellspring of inspiration, fueling my creativity and revitalizing a passion for exploration and discovery. As I reflect on this remarkable journey, I extend profound gratitude to everyone who worked so hard to ensure that such a large group still walked away with experiences for aspects of life. Special thanks to Chris Finnin for his unwavering dedication and mentorship throughout this extraordinary experience and beyond.
