Quality Assurance Engineer

As a Quality Assurance Engineer at XTEL, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our revenue management solutions through meticulous testing and analysis. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements, test plans, and execute testing strategies to identify and address any issues or defects.

Our QA Engineer will be responsible for:

• 1. Test creation: Develop and maintain automated e2e tests for the functionalities in the application.
• 2. Test Execution: Execute tests across various browsers to ensure compatibility and reliability of our software. Conduct both manual and automated testing as needed.
• 3. Defect Identification and Reporting: Identify, document, and prioritize defects using bug tracking tools. Provide detailed reports on testing results, including defect metrics and recommendations for resolution specific to functionalities.
• 4. Regression Testing: Conduct regular regression testing to ensure that new features and enhancements do not adversely impact existing functionalities.
• 5. Continuous Improvement: Proactively contribute to the improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies specific to our software. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies to enhance testing capabilities.
• 6. Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to understand technical aspects of the product and facilitate timely resolution of defects. Participate in ceremonies such as milestone planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, focusing on feature development.
• 7. Documentation: Create and maintain documentation related to test cases, test scenarios, and testing processes specific to functionalities to ensure comprehensive coverage and knowledge transfer.

A great candidate will have:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the role of Quality Assurance Engineer or similar role (software developer) focused on web application testing.
• Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes tailored to software testing.
• Proficiency in Cypress is preferred, or at least one test automation tool such as Playwright, Selenium, or similar.
• Solid knowledge of programming languages such as Typescript or JavaScript.
• Experience with bug tracking tools and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools in the software deployment and delivery.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Strong English language skills, both spoken and written
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a technical background.
• ISTQB or similar certification in software testing.
• Knowledge of agile development best practices, SCRUM workflow and software development methodologies
• Good to have knowledge of DevOps tools.
